The new TEMU online marketplace is supposed to be the "killer" of Aliexpress: They have great prices and fast express delivery!

If you follow the online world of shopping, you may have already seen a promo for the new Temu online marketplace in advertisements on social networks or websites. This marketplace is supposed to be a kind of new competitor to the well-known Aliexpress, while promising very fast delivery of goods at the level of European warehouses.

Since we at "planetka" are constantly following new trends and shopping opportunities at low prices, we decided to dedicate this article to the Temu marketplace and also to conduct a small survey among you, our readers.

What is Temu?

Temu is a new online shopping marketplace owned by Chinese company PDD Holdings Inc. that has taken the internet by storm. And literally. If you are a regular internet user, 90% of the time you have already seen an ad from Temu somewhere. So it is obvious that the company that owns Temu invests a lot of money in marketing.

Temu works basically on the same principle as the world-famous Aliexpress - it connects Chinese manufacturers with end customers. On this platform, you will find millions of products from categories such as clothing, household accessories, electronics, tools and much more.

A unique feature of Temu is that many of the products on this site are extremely cheap. Sunglasses are $2 there, necklaces are just $1, and glow-in-the-dark pet collars are $3. This platform probably has everything you can imagine for under $30.

How fast is delivery from Temu?

In our Facebook group Xiaomi Planet we already did a small survey about Temu and we asked the members if they had already ordered on the portal and how quickly the goods arrived. Many experiences in the comments are the same - the delivery of goods is very fast and varies between 10-14 days.

Directly in the application for individual products, you will find the indicated delivery times, which range from 8 to 16 days. Temu promises that if the goods arrive later than in 16 days, they will credit your account with 5 € credit for next purchase.

For each product, delivery via the well-known transport companies DPD, Slovak Post or Express One is indicated. The last of the named is used by Aliexpress in its proven fast shipping Aliexpress Standard Shipping.

Shop at Temu with discounts

We are currently awaiting our first order of five products and will share our own experiences once they arrive. We will also investigate whether the goods are sent from China or the mentioned European warehouses.

Temu and shopping: Application also in Czech

Shopping on the Temu portal is most convenient through the mobile application, which we recommend downloading. If you download the application via our link, you will get significant discounts on your first purchase. For example, when ordering for 50 € that's up to 25 € discount.

The Temu application is completely translated into Czech

A huge advantage for Slovaks and Czechs is the fact that the application is also available in the Czech language. This, for example, is still not offered by Aliexpress. So if you don't understand English, you can simply switch the language to Czech in the settings.

As for payment methods, there is a choice in addition to the classic credit card the well-known PayPal, Google Pay or Apple Pay, which is also a plus compared to Aliexpress, which PayPal still does not offer (or only for some sellers and products).
