Huawei will no longer be limited
Huawei has also had problems in the past, when due to sanctions from the USA, it interrupted supplies of processors from TSMC. Therefore, she decided to build a factory directly in her home China, where sanctions will have no effect.
According to a report from DigiTimes, Huawei plans to build a factory in Wu-Chan, Hubei Province. There should be the production of chips sometime in the coming years. It should focus on the production of optical communication chips and modules and on the production of micro circuit designs.
HiSilicon is a subsidiary of Huawei, which designs chips for mobile devices. The company plans to invest 1,9 billion yuan in the construction of the factory, which is about 247 billion euros. This is a big step for the company and at the same time it will have a new place where new processors for mobile devices will be designed.
Huawei is slowly rising from the ashes
Sanctions from the US government have been devastating to Huawei in a sense. It had to give up business with Google and this was felt by customers in the absence of Google services in their smartphones. Although Huawei has tried to fix this with its own app store, some popular apps are not there today. Not to mention that this has lost the smartphone and the possibility of payment via NFC.
Huawei decided to solve this on its own and recently introduced its own operating system HarmonyOS. Although it builds on the foundations of Android, it is a separate operating system designed for smartphones, tablets, smart watches and smart homes. Only time will tell how Huawei will prosper, especially in our European market.
