The Roborock brand is known mainly for its robotic vacuum cleaners, which are very popular. In the segment of rod vacuum cleaners, the brand had a representative in the form of the H6 model, which now has its successor. Roborock H7 aims to become one of the best bar vacuum cleaners.
In addition to the quality of vacuuming, we will also look at durability, charging, accessories and the overall quality of processing, as well as the functions it offers. Since we have already tried several stick vacuum cleaners from the brands Dreame and JIMMY, we wonder if the Roborock H7 will offer something extra.
Where to buy Roborock H7?
We purchased the Roborock H7 stick vacuum cleaner for testing from our international partner Geekbuying. It was available in European stock, thanks to which we did not pay any additional fees even after the change in legislation. The package was brought to us by a DPD courier.

Rich packaging with lots of accessories
We received Roborock H7 in a cardboard box measuring 81 x 35 x 18.5 cm, which protects the main box. It is white with vacuum cleaner printing and basic characteristics. The package was delivered to us by a courier in perfect condition, without any damage.
As is customary with most robotic vacuum cleaners, the packaging of this vacuum cleaner also consists of many elements. All components are placed in a cardboard reinforcement, where each element has its place and, in addition, they are wrapped in a protective foil. Everything is thus perfectly protected against any damage during transport.
The package consists of the main unit of the vacuum cleaner, extension rod, charger, instructions for use and other attachments that can be used. These are traditionally divided into passive and active, which are powered by electricity.
In this case, two nozzles are electric, which contain a rotating brush. One is designed for vacuuming all types of floors and the other is used for vacuuming sofas and mattresses. The electric nozzles are connected either directly to the main unit of the vacuum cleaner or to the extension rod.
Passive components represent various add-ons. Specifically, it is a flexible pipe, a narrow attachment for vacuuming less accessible places and a whisk with brushesnami. There is also a practical wall holder in which the vacuum cleaner and accessories can be easily stored.
However, the Roborock H7 also has something extra compared to most rod vacuum cleaners. You will find dust bags in the package, so you have the choice of vacuuming in a dust container that you have to empty regularly or in a bag that you simply throw away and replace with another one. Another feature is the magnets in the extensions, thanks to which you can place them, for example, on the refrigerator.
Quality of workmanship and design
The rod vacuum cleaner is made largely of plastic, but it is a quality plastic, thanks to which this model has a rather premium impression. We also praise the design combination of gray with red, which gives it an attractive appearance.
At first glance, it is very similar to the Dreame T20 bar vacuum cleaner. The main unit has a very similar design. In the upper part there is an engine, under which there are filters, a cyclone and a dirt container. The rear part consists of a handle with a power button, under which the battery is located. However, it is integrated and not easily replaceable. This eliminates the possibility of purchasing an additional battery, which would extend the period of use.
At the top of the handle there is a clear OLED display and also a button for switching modes. The side still hides an inconspicuous button for the child lock. The handle is coated with a rough surface texture, so it does not slip and is comfortable to hold in the hand. Overall, it fits very well in the hand and is comfortable to handle.
As for the quality of the extensions, we have less reservation about the main, floor nozzle. While the whole vacuum cleaner looks really premium, the floor nozzle rattles during use, the wheels creak slightly and give the cheap impression that it belongs to a two class cheaper vacuum cleaner.
OLED display, controls and modes
The small OLED display shows basic data such as battery status, remaining vacuuming time, current mode and information about the lock on or off. The child lock is operated using an inconspicuous button on the side of the vacuum cleaner. It is activated by long pressing it.
By briefly pressing this button, the vacuum cleaner is kept on, so you don't have to keep the shutter button pressed all the time, even if it is kind of natural when you hold the vacuum cleaner, so it didn't bother us to keep it pressed all the time.
When you press the shutter button, the display lights up and the vacuum cleaner turns on. The display shows the current battery status in percent, which changes after a few seconds to the remaining vacuuming time until fully discharged. The brush in the floor nozzle spins with a slight delay before pressing the shutter button, which is not common with other vacuum cleaners.
There are three modes, which you can switch between using the button at the beginning of the handle. The modes are graded according to performance and all three have active carpet detection, in which the vacuum cleaner automatically increases performance.
Vacuum quality and our experience after daily vacuuming
The maximum suction power of 160 AW ranks this vacuum cleaner among the best. The quality of the vacuuming is really at a very good level and the suction power at the strongest mode is excellent. On the contrary, the weakest regime is weak for vacuuming solid particles such as spilled rice, small mat mat stones and the like. However, it is sufficient for normal vacuuming.
Most of the time we used Roborock H7 in medium mode, which is quite sufficient for normal vacuuming. We used the vacuum cleaner mainly in an apartment with a laminate floor and a pair of smaller carpets with long hair. He didn't quite cope with one of them, which is softer, and several times it happened to us that the rotating brush stopped on it, even though the vacuum cleaner still salted. However, after going back to the hard floor, the brush did not start and we always had to turn the vacuum cleaner off and on to start again.
From our point of view, a minor negative is the automatic increase in performance on carpets, which cannot be switched off in any way and is active at all three levels. We would rather have a separate, automatic mode, which would be the only one with this function, similar to that of Dreame vacuum cleaners.
Endurance and charging
The manufacturer states the endurance of 90 minutes per charge. However, it was measured without any accessories, which does not make much sense. We therefore tested the real endurance when vacuuming. As already mentioned, we vacuumed in a 3-room apartment, which is 95% covered with hard floor coverings. We only have 2 small carpets in the household.
In the lowest mode, the vacuum cleaner displays 58 - 61 minutes until fully discharged. In the medium mode it is 35 minutes and in the strongest 9 minutes. Surprisingly, these times are quite real if you vacuum the same surface all the time. Since we have a laminate floor in every room except the kitchen, the times shown on the vacuum cleaner's display were very accurate. Of course, if we only vacuumed the carpets, the time would be halved.
The problem with most rod vacuum cleaners is the huge disparity between charging time and usage time. If you charge for 4-5 hours and discharge the vacuum cleaner in 25 minutes, it is no win. The Roborock brand has finally come up with a faster charge, thanks to which the vacuum cleaner charges in about 2 hours and 30 minutes.
The disadvantage is the integrated battery, which cannot be easily replaced, so you cannot buy a replacement battery to increase endurance. It is also possible to charge in the enclosed stand, which is mounted on the wall. The package also includes dowels and appropriate screws.
Filters and vacuum cleaner cleaning
Dust is emptied from the vacuum cleaner very easily. Pressing the small lever in the body of the vacuum cleaner opens the bottom lid of the container, so you can easily empty its contents. Occasionally, however, dirt such as animal hair and hair is trapped on the cyclone, so it is better to dump more thoroughly outside.
Another option is to use a dust bag, which you simply throw away and replace with a new one. This method is much cleaner and more suitable for allergy sufferers. However, the problem is the small pocket, which fills up quite quickly. The manufacturer adds only 2 such pockets, so if you want to use this method, you need significantly more pockets. Their price is at level 2 € per pocket, which is not an insignificant amount at all.
Roborock H7 has a 5-stage filtration, thanks to which it can capture particles from the size of 0.3 µm. A well-known HEPA filter is also included, which captures up to 99.99% of particles. This filtration ensures that almost no unwanted particles get back into the air.
One part of the filters is accessible from the top, which is easily removed by turning the top, red cover of the main unit of the vacuum cleaner. From the bottom part there is a removable cyclone, which can be removed either through the lid of the dust container, or after disassembling the entire dust container.
All these filters and cyclones are washable, so they are very easy to maintain.
noise
As the suction power increases, the noise level of the vacuum cleaner also automatically increases. Increased performance so you can hear it immediately. We measured the noise level in each mode while vacuuming the laminate floor, here are the results:
- weakest mode: 70 dB
- medium mode: 73 dB
- strongest mode: 80 dB
A brief comparison with the flagship model from Dreame
Since we recently tested the flagship vacuum cleaner from the Dreame brand, model T30, let's briefly compare these 2 competing models. In many respects, these vacuum cleaners are very similar at first glance. However, slight differences are found.
Dreame T30 offers more accessories, we will also find a practical joint for the main bar and one additional whisk compared to the Roborock H7 model. However, it does not have magnetic extensions and does not have the option of vacuuming in a disposable bag.
But most importantly, they are very similar in the quality of vacuuming. The only visible difference is in vacuuming carpets with longer hair, which is easier with a Roborock vacuum cleaner.
Endurance in the lowest mode is higher with the Dreame T30, but in turbo mode the endurance is almost the same, similar to the charging time. In addition, the Dreame T30 has an automatic mode that adjusts the suction power according to the surface to be vacuumed. Roborock H7 will increase performance only when recognizing the carpet, in all three modes.
The overall workmanship and quality are at a high level in both models and also their price is almost the same. Since these are very similar vacuum cleaners, it is difficult to decide which is better. You will definitely be very satisfied with both models.
Final evaluation
Roborock H7 is another great rod vacuum cleaner, which is one of the best models from China. It perfectly manages the vacuuming of all types of surfaces thanks to the high suction power of 160 AW. It will also please with its pleasant design, solid construction and many extensions in the package.
An interesting feature is the magnetic accessory, thanks to which you can also attach the extensions to the refrigerator. Roborock H7 also offers the possibility of vacuuming in a disposable bag, which is a nice bonus compared to other vacuum cleaners.
It is a pity that the manufacturer did not include a practical joint for vacuuming under sofas or beds, similar to the Dreame T30. A special feature is the automatic increase in performance when vacuuming carpets, which is active in every mode and cannot be turned off.
So, if our review convinced you to buy this stick vacuum cleaner, we definitely recommend you to choose our verified partner Geekbuying, which has it in a European warehouse. You will not pay VAT or additional duty.
