The new Xiaomi Mi Portable Air Pump 2 compressor has dimensions of 123 x 75.5 x 45.8 mm, which means that it has slightly increased in width, which can be seen at first glance in a direct comparison. However, it still maintains a good processing quality.

The design has also changed slightly, but really only slightly. The front is dominated by the display and four-way buttons for control along with the confirmation button in the middle.

The sides contain openings for ventilation, and they have also been added on the top side. The underside, where the charging USB-C port is located, has also undergone a design change. However, this is only a cosmetic change of the holes in the plastic, which this time are not around the perimeter of the underside, but are located in the middle.

Longer hose and higher performance

Another small improvement is the longer tube, which has been extended by 2 cm from 180 mm to 200 mm. In a similar spirit, the performance of the compressor, which has been slightly increased, is carried out.

The most significant improvement in performance can be seen between the first and second versions of the compressor, when the performance has doubled. This time we moved from 15 L/min to 18 L/min. The maximum pressure that this compressor can handle has not changed and is 150 psi.

The manufacturer does not provide further data on endurance, but since the battery has the same capacity as the predecessor of this model, we do not expect any significant improvement in this area.

We compared the endurance when blowing 26" mountain bike wheels. The first generation compressor was able to inflate the wheel 8 times, during the ninth attempt the compressor shut down. With the improved version 1S, we inflated the wheel 10 times, and the compressor turned off only during the eleventh inflation.

The latest generation Xiaomi Mi Portable Air Pump 2 was enough for 12 puffs and turned off after the thirteenth. The manufacturer has also slightly improved the endurance, despite the fact that the battery is the same.

Charging takes place via the USB-C connector, similarly to the case of the 1S version.

Display with new data

The size of the display remains unchanged, but the display of individual elements on the display has changed. The symbols representing the individual modes have been moved from the left side to the top, above the numbers that inform about the pressure.

Overall, the values ​​on the display in the latest version have a slight yellow tinge, unlike the older versions where they were bright white.

Finally, we also got a display of the battery status, although not in percentages, but only in the form of a battery symbol with four parts. Each of them thus represents 25% of the battery.

It offers a higher output of 18 L/min, a longer tube, a stronger LED light, a new adapter in the package and minor design changes compared to older versions.
