Content and quality of packaging
The KuKirin G2 Master electric scooter was delivered to us by the GLS company courier in a box measuring 129 x 28.7 x 63 cm. It was also tied with a pair of straps, but the total weight of the package is up to 39 kg, which indicates that it is not a small and light scooter.
We appreciate the double packing, which means that the scooter was packed in two boxes. We are glad that the manufacturer chose this packaging, because the outer box was quite badly damaged in places.
Inside, the scooter is stored in a folded state in molded polystyrene. Unfortunately, many of them were broken and splintered, so we had styrofoam scattered all over the box and the scooter. Unpacking was thus not possible without a vacuum cleaner.
In addition to the scooter, the package also includes a manual, a small pump, a charger, a multifunctional wrench with tools and a moto lock for the brake disc. Overall, we rate the contents of the package positively, but the quality of the package could have been better. NamiIn the case of polystyrene, the manufacturer could use foam reinforcements that cannot break and scatter.
Folding the scooter is very easy, as we hardly need to assemble anything. The only thing that is not fixed on the scooter are its handlebars. However, you just need to screw them into the stem of the handlebars with four screws, inflate the tires and you can drive.
Build quality and design
The KuKirin G2 Master electric scooter has dimensions of 1260 x 595 x 1315 mm when unfolded and 1260 x 595 x 595 mm when folded. Its total weight is 33 kg, and it looks like a rather massive scooter.
It will certainly impress with its design, which carries black and orange colors. The entire structure is therefore black, made of aluminum alloy, which is complemented by orange elements such as the brand logo, the hook on the handlebars and the springs of the shock absorbers.
The foot platform is rubberized and has dimensions of 18.6 x 48 cm with a step for the foot in the rear part, above the rear wheel. The design is of course folding and the folding mechanism itself consists of a larger screw head and a metal latch that is held in place by this nut.
Such folding is a bit more lengthy, as it would be faster to unlock only a kind of safety lever. We have already seen a similar system with a scooter Kugoo Kirin G3.
Handlebars and display
The handlebars are height adjustable in three positions – 114, 121 and 128 cm from the ground. Their width is almost 60 cm. They are dominated by a relatively large display in the middle. It is backlit and shows the current speed, driving mode (1/2/3), battery voltage, battery symbol with ten parts, and also informs us whether we have single mode or dual (drive by one or two motors).
The manufacturer solves the display of the raid in a somewhat strange way. In the lower right corner of the display, the information about the total mileage and the mileage since the scooter was turned on (ODO and TRIP) is constantly flashing. The display is quite shiny, which is a minor drawback and you can see it in our photos.
On the left side of the handlebars, we find the brake lever for the rear brake and a controller with four buttons. Two of them are used to control the turn signals, the third to turn on the lights and the fourth controls the horn.
On the right side is the brake lever of the front brake and a smaller controller with a pair of buttons. One is used to turn the scooter on and off, while the second button controls the switching between the drive with one or two motors - single or dual mode.
Power and two engines
KuKirin G2 Master has a total power of up to 2000 W. Two motors take care of it, one in each of the wheels, where both have 1000 W. They ensure a maximum speed of up to 60 km/h. There are three speed modes indicated by numbers, which have a maximum speed of 20, 40 and 60 km/h.
The scooter thus has enough power even for hills. According to the papers, it can handle a maximum 20° incline. Unfortunately, we could not verify this, but subjectively it handles even steeper hills very well.
As we mentioned earlier, since we have a pair of engines here, we can choose whether we want to drive with the drive of both engines or with only one. Of course, when powered by one motor, the performance is weaker and the scooter does not have such strong acceleration.
The maximum speed of 60 km/h, as stated by the manufacturer, is not very achievable even in the mode dual. Even on the long straight, we reached a maximum of 56 km/h, which according to the GPS in the smartphone was 54 km/h. Acceleration from 45 km/h to the maximum is already weaker.
After switching to the mode dual, when we have both engines active and full power of 2000 W, the scooter is lively, has significantly better acceleration than in single mode and the overall riding experience is on a completely different level. Although it is not one of the most powerful scooters, there is plenty of power and at full throttle from zero the acceleration is very decent indeed. We liked riding the scooter and enjoyed the ride.
Lighting and turn signals
In addition to the front and rear lights, the KuKirin G2 Master electric scooter also has an effective illumination of the KuKirin logo on the sides of the chassis. In addition to it, four lights in the corners of the chassis are also lit.
The direction lights are also quite visible. The four lights just mentioned in the corners of the platform serve as turn signals, so that when the turn signals are turned on, they are clearly visible to drivers going opposite, but also to those behind nami.
Brakes and wheels
More powerful scooters deserve quality brakes. Here we have mechanical disc brakes at the front and rear. It's a pity that the manufacturer did not reach for hydraulic brakes, we would have liked them better here. However, we are glad that the manufacturer used standard disc brakes, where we have a pair of brake pads that wrap around the brake disc on both sides. These are full-fledged mechanical disc brakes.
Their efficiency is quite good, but they need to be run in a little. From production, they brake a little weaker and the brake pads gently rub against the disc, but a skilled user can adjust their position so that they do not rub while driving.
The wheels are relatively wide. They have a size of 10″ x 2.75, an offroad pattern and are pneumatic. The manufacturer does not indicate whether souls are hidden under the cloaks or not. The rear fender is divided into two parts, which completes the overall design of the scooter.
Front and rear suspension
A big attraction of this scooter is also the overall suspension of the chassis, i.e. the front and rear parts. A pair of hydraulic shock absorbers with an effective orange spring ensures a comfortable ride.
We have to admit that riding this scooter is extremely comfortable. The suspension works great, not too stiff, but not too soft either. It is set up just right, so bumps and potholes are no problem for this scooter.
Although it is not intended for difficult terrain, it can handle lighter terrain quite well. Driving on dirt roads is completely trouble-free and the pedal above the rear wheel fits us perfectly.
Battery and range
The KuKirin G2 Master is based on a 52 V system with a 20.8 Ah battery. The manufacturer indicates a range of approximately 70 km per charge at medium speed. Since we used the scooter to the full, most of the time we rode in dual mode with the drive of both engines and in the highest gear with number 3, where the maximum speed is 60 km/h.
Of course, we did not go continuously at maximum speed, but we used the power to the full and did not spare the scooter at all. The editor who tested the scooter weighs 78 kg. She was driven in Košice and the surrounding area. Since the weather was not very kind to us, we had to divide the test drive, during which we measured the total range per charge, into 2 days.
Together, we traveled 29 km on one charge. We ended the second run when we felt a significant drop in power and top speed. At the end of the ride, the battery had only 46.1 V, which corresponds to a capacity below 20%, and the scooter could no longer handle a speed higher than 25 km/h.
KuKirin G2 Master: Final review
We had a lot of fun with the KuKirin G2 Master electric scooter. It offers an attractive design, excellent suspension and high-quality construction. The power of 2000 W and the maximum speed of almost 60 km/h will also please you.
The scooter has good performance and decent acceleration. The solution of direction lights in the corners of the foot platform is also interesting. The battery has 52 V and 20.8 Ah, which according to the manufacturer should be enough for a range of 70 km. We managed to cover 29 km in the highest mode without saving the scooter. However, the driving style, the terrain and the rider's weight greatly affect the range.
Overall, we can definitely recommend this scooter and we enjoyed testing it. It has good acceleration and excellent driving characteristics.
