The new video reveals the bold gadget he made Huawei engineer. It is a functional prototype of a self-riding bicycle. At the outset, however, it is important to say that this is about private activity of an engineer and is not part of the product portfolio of the Chinese manufacturer Huawei.
The self-riding bicycle was made by an engineer from Huawei
A Chinese engineer developed a functional prototype of an autonomous bicycle. The prototype is quite impressive, it is possible to control it remotely and is also able to maintain balance even on a very thin surface (demonstrated by a bicycle standing on a thin fence).
Okay in response to that @TubeTimeUS's request, some of my favorite Chinese Makers (the real kind, not the entrepreneurs calling themselves Makers with no technical skills)

The autonomous bike brings a number of intelligent functions. It has precise sensors on the body, paired with image recognition cameras, and there is also AI (artificial intelligence), which allows the bike to move smoothly even without a crew.
At the forefront of this project is Zhihui Jun, an engineer who apparently liked the idea after facing an injury after a standard bicycle accident. This injury led him to the realization that there is a potential for self-driving or. autonomous bicycle.
First a computer model, then a prototype
The team around the engineer then assembled equipment such as an automatic control system, a network of perception sensors and a chip that acts as the brain of the system and provides the bike with the required computing power.
The engineer first modeled this bike on a computer (using CAD - Computer-aided design) and then added to the physical prototype two powerful without engines and the steering itself. He then equipped the bike with an RGBD depth camera, added an accelerometer, a gyroscope and even a LiDAR sensor.
The autonomous bicycle is powered by a lithium battery, which offers a lifespan of up to 2-3 hours on a single charge, and the main control module is located directly under the seat of this bicycle.
The engineer equipped this bike with a control module that works similar to the systems used in satellites to maintain balance. In other words, the model is equipped with small but very accurate sensors. They can detect even the smallest tilts and immediately send this data to the control module. He can then make changes in balance to ensure that the bike can stand on its own.
An integrated pair of motors also helps the rear wheel run. As a result, this bike allows you to move without pedaling. You can watch the original video of this project at the following link.
