We personally tried the Ultimea Poseidon D60 soundbar
Let's start briefly with the packaging, which is really rich in accessories. In addition to the soundbar, subwoofer and two rear surround speakers, we also find several cables and other accessories.
Specifically, it is an HDMI cable (eARC), an optical cable, power cables for the soundbar and subwoofer, or RCA audio cables for connecting the subwoofer to the surround speakers.
We can also find a clear manual in English, a remote control without batteries and a holder with screws and dowels for placing the soundbar on the wall.
Dimensions and connection of the system 5.1
The Ultimea Poseidon D60 audio system itself is very compact in size. The soundbar is one of the smaller ones, it is only 40 x 7 x 9 cm, the subwoofer is 15.5 x 24.4 x 21.5 cm and both surround speakers are 13.5 x 7 x 9 cm.
In the photos from the manufacturer, the system looks really good and modern. However, we usually don't find cables there, which spoil the overall impression, so to speak, especially if we want to place the surround speakers at the back, not near the TV. Only the connection between the soundbar and the subwoofer is wireless.
In addition to the power cables that the subwoofer and soundbar need, we also need to connect the surround speakers to the subwoofer with cables. There are long enough cables in the package, but not every living room can hide them perfectly so that they don't get in the way.
Sound quality and speaker types
The manufacturer is relatively tight-lipped about speaker data, so we only have limited parameters at our disposal.
In the soundbar itself there are three 2.25" speakers, in the surround speakers there is also one 2.25" speaker in each, and the subwoofer has a size of 5.25". This is 5.1 channel surround sound with a frequency range of 40 Hz - 18 kHz. The maximum level of sound intensity is 103 dB.
But let's go to the most important information, which is the quality of this audio system. The sound is extremely clear and the treble is particularly prominent. The mids fade a little and the bass is so average, not too strong but not completely weak either.
We probably enjoyed the Ultimea Poseidon D60 speaker system the most when watching movies. Here, the surround sound is really good with a high-quality movie and a good distribution of the speakers, and it will take the movie-watching experience to a completely different level.
However, it didn't work well for listening to music. The overall balance is not quite built for listening to music. We missed more pronounced mids and denser bass, especially at lower volume. Even the equalizer for the music didn't save it too much.
Sound customization
The Ultimea Poseidon D60 soundbar also offers several sound settings. However, they are relatively limited and do not expect any advanced settings.
We have a trio of equalizers available. The first has the most pronounced highs, while the remaining two give more space to the bass.
We can also adjust the level of bass and surround effect. However, we only have three options available for both: -1, 0 and 1. The scale is thus very short and the differences are more noticeable at higher volumes.
Remote control
The Ultimea soundbar comes with a separate remote control. It fits well in the hand and the response of the buttons is equally good.
With it, we can adjust the volume, switch between inputs or adjust the equalizer, bass and surround effect.
Connection options
We have several soundbar connection options available. One option is HDMR with ARC function, we also have optics, USB and, last but not least, older AV.
Wireless connectivity includes Bluetooth version 5.3. We can easily and quickly switch between these inputs using the remote control or directly on the soundbar.
The selected options are then displayed on a small display on the front of the soundbar.
