Mobvoi, which produces smart watch TicWatch, is among the constants of this segment. It has been using the Wear OS operating system for many years, while its new watch has been certified by the FCC unit.
The new model was revealed by certification
Model TicWatch Pro 5 the company was supposed to release it already last fall, but unfortunately, it didn't happen. Since this smartwatch appeared in the list of certifications on the platform FCC, so their arrival should be around the corner.
Already in July 2022, the manufacturer Mobvoi confirmed that this smart watch will be powered by the latest processor Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Plus Gen 1. It should be not only powerful, but also economical.
Now, Mobvoi's mysterious smartwatch has been certified by the FCC with a model number WH12088. It is most likely the TicWatch Pro 5 model.
Although the predecessor bore the name TicWatch Pro 3, but the number 4 is considered unlucky in China and other Southeast Asian countries, therefore the number 5.
For example, we learned from the FCC certification that the TicWatch Pro 5 smart watch will support the technologies WiFi, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS and NFC for contactless payment using Google Pay.
Huge battery
But the biggest gem comes at the end. The certification also revealed that this smartwatch will have an incredibly high battery capacity, namely up to 611 mAh.
This should be the highest capacity that we can find in a smart watch with the operating system Wear OS from Google, so it is more than offered by competitors in the form of Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro and OPPO Watch 3 Pro. Together with the new economical processor, it will be the king in endurance.
There is a certain percentage chance that the new TicWatch Pro 5 smartwatch could be presented at the MWC fair in Barcelona. The event starts next week.
How would you like a smartwatch with Wear OS with such a really big battery? Do you think it would be the king of endurance among current full-fledged smart watches? It depends on how many days of normal use in WearOS mode it would take. But why not, durability is the only reason I prefer smart bracelets.
