Contents of the package
The NexTool portable spotlight comes in a black box measuring 15 x 14.7 x 5.5 cm. In addition to the reflector photo, we can also find basic specifications in Chinese and English.
Inside, there is the reflector itself housed in a practical zippered case, which will be used to transfer, store and protect the reflector. The housing is reinforced, hard, so the reflector can effectively protect.
The package is complemented by a USB-C charging cable without an adapter, which is, however, relatively short. He is only 30 cm tall. Instructions for use are in Chinese and English, but we did not need it. The controls are intuitive.
Quality of processing and layout of controls
The portable reflector from the NexTool brand looks very high-quality at first impression. It is made of aluminum alloy and nylon PA66 with glass fibersnami. The metal construction is matte, all parts fit together perfectly and nothing creaks or has any play.
In terms of design, the spotlight was really successful. In the front there is a lighting source with circular LEDs, a design grille and the brand logo. The controls are located at the top and the bottom has a standard thread for mounting on a tripod.
You will also find a practical tilting holder on the reflector, which you can use as a handle or you can use it to support the reflector somewhere. In the left part, there are also USB-A and USB-C ports, which are used to charge the battery in the reflector, as well as to use the power bank function.
In the right part there is an additional, smaller LED diode, which serves as a flashlight. There is also IPX5 certification, which protects the reflector against splashing water. The reflector is also able to survive a fall from a maximum height of 1 m.
Lighting control
As we mentioned in the previous chapter, the controls are located at the top. The dominant elements are a pair of rotary selectors, which are used to change the brightness and temperature of the light. Among them we find an inconspicuous black button for turning the reflector itself on and off, as well as four signaling diodes that inform us about the battery status.
By pressing the power button briefly, you can check the battery status and hold it down to turn on the main lighting. There are three main lighting modes - white light, red light and red flashing light. The fourth mode turns on the side light, which is only white. To switch between modes, briefly press the black button.
Brightness and light temperature adjustment
With the help of the mentioned rotary selectors, the light temperature as well as the brightness can be adjusted. You can adjust the brightness in the range of 25 - 1800 lumens and the light temperature in the range of 2700 - 6500 k.
The range of brightness and temperature is sufficient and the maximum brightness of 1800 lumens is a very decent value. Thanks to the wide light scattering, you can illuminate a really large area with the help of a reflector.
The red light offers brightness control in the range of 0.5 - 85 lumens and you can set the white side light in the range of 30 - 1000 lumens.
You can adjust the brightness in all lighting modes, while only the main mode offers light temperature adjustment. Even with the side light, it is not possible to regulate the light temperature. The rotary selectors have easy operation in gentle steps and you can rotate them indefinitely to any side.
As for the afterglow, the main light has a maximum afterglow of 1800 lumens of about 50 meters, the red light about 10 m and the side spotlight illuminates up to a distance of 170 m. In our experience, the real afterglow is a bit weaker than the manufacturer states, but the brightness is very decent and adjusting the light temperature is a great plus.
Practical handle and thread for tripod
The NexTool portable reflector has a very practical holder, which has several uses. You can hang or lean the spotlight somewhere and use this handle as a kind of stand.
Another great feature is the thread in the lower part, thanks to which you can place the reflector on a standard tripod. The NexTool reflector has such a wide range of uses.
Endurance, charging and power bank function
The reflector has a 3.6 V, 48.6 Wh, 13 mAh battery, which guarantees long life. At maximum brightness of the main light source should last for 500 hours. At minimum brightness, it is up to 5.5 hours.
The side light is significantly smaller, offering 18 hours of maximum brightness and an incredible 200 hours of minimum brightness. You can also use the NexTool spotlight as a power bank. The USB cable is connected from the left part of the reflector, where the ports are hidden under a rubber cover.
You can check the battery capacity with four signaling LEDs, each representing approximately 25% of the battery capacity. Charging took us about 4 hours and we connected the reflector to the charger at a capacity of about 25%.
NexTool Spotlight: Final Evaluation
The precision reflector from the NexTool brand is a great helper in the dark. Thanks to its compact dimensions, practical storage case and metal handle, it offers a wide range of uses.

The main light source has a maximum brightness of 1800 lm and an afterglow of approximately 50 ms with excellent scattering. You can adjust the brightness and temperature of the light using the rotary selectors. In addition to the white light with a range of 2700 - 6500 k, it also offers a red light with a flashing function, as well as a side flashlight that illuminates up to a distance of 170 m.
The high battery capacity will ensure a long endurance on a single charge, with the possibility of use as a power bank. There is a lack of quality workmanship and water resistance IPX5.
