Cordless stick vacuum cleaners are a very interesting alternative to classic vacuum cleaners. Thanks to the absence of cables, vacuuming is easier with them, so they are gradually gaining popularity. This time we tried an interesting model Jimmy H8 Pro, which was launched only recently.
In short, it offers a suction power of 25 Pa / 000 AW, an automatic power adjustment mode, a clear LED display and a number of accessories in the package. In the editorial office, we tested it in detail and finally compared it with a similar vacuum cleaner that we use so far, the Dreame T160.
Where to buy Jimmy H8 Pro
Rod vacuum cleaner Jimmy The H8 Pro is sold at an international retailer Geekbuying, which is our partner. It is currently available in the European warehouse, so delivery is very fast. You don't have to worry about any customs fees, as it is shipped from a European warehouse.
Jimmy H8 Pro
In our case, the vacuum cleaner came from a Polish warehouse and was delivered to us by a DPD courier in 5 days, within which it was, but also a weekend.
Rich packaging with lots of accessories
Jimmy We received the H8 Pro in a white box with a print and a practical carrying handle. It is a pity that the seller does not pack this box in another protective box. In addition to the vacuum cleaner itself, there are also a number of accessories inside.
Everything is nicely stored in polystyrene, so the product is sufficiently protected against shocks and a relatively compact box stores a lot of things. The interior consists of 2 floors made of polystyrene, in which the individual objects are inserted.
Everything is still wrapped in protective foil.
The package also includes clear instructions for use, which will help you orient yourself in individual parts and their functionality. In addition to the vacuum cleaner itself, there are 2 electric nozzles in the package. One is intended for vacuuming the floor, the other for vacuuming mattresses, sofas, armchairs and other similar materials with upholstery.
Both nozzles have a rotating brush. In the floor nozzle, however, there is a brush that has bristles all over the surface, but in the second, smaller nozzle, the bristles are only in a few strips. Both the HEPA filter and the waste container are already inserted in the main unit of the vacuum cleaner. Only the battery, charging station, main rod, extensions and stand are placed separately in the box.
As for passive extensions, there are 5. One serves as a flexible extension tube, the other as a joint. The other three extensions are already for direct vacuuming - two are smaller, for vacuuming less accessible places and have retractable bristles, the third is a kind of whisk. With the help of these extensions, the vacuum cleaner can also be used to clean the car interior.
It will also please the presence of a stand that does not need to be mounted to the wall. It is simply placed on the ground and the vacuum cleaner is just inserted into it together with the floor nozzle. But you will not find space on it to hold other extensions.
Jimmy H8 Pro: Processing quality and ergonomics
The whole vacuum cleaner is made of plastic. Overall, it does not give a very premium impression, but everything is solid and the quality is good. The vacuum cleaner has an interesting design with elements of purple color.
The manufacturer states that the handle of the vacuum cleaner Jimmy The H8 Pro is designed so that the overall burden on the person is as low as possible, and that the vacuum cleaner is held well and comfortably in the hand. Since the handle itself is long enough, you can hold it in several ways.
The vacuum cleaner weighs about 1.49 kg, which is not much at all. Its weight does not interfere even with prolonged vacuuming. But if you need to vacuum mattresses, sofas or even higher places with passive extensions, its weight is starting to be a significant burden.
Controls and modes
The battery must be inserted into the vacuum cleaner before use. It slides into the back of the main unit of the vacuum cleaner. Inserting and removing the battery is very simple and practical. When removing, simply press the Release button on the end of the battery and pull it out.
There are 2 buttons for control at the top, below the LED display. The first button is used to turn on and off, the second toggles between modes. Eco, auto, turbo and max modes are available.
During testing, they most often used an automatic mode that regulates the power itself, according to the surface to be vacuumed. It only works with electric nozzles, which we wrote about in the introduction. When switching between different surfaces, the vacuum cleaner automatically adjusts the suction power, but it is often with a significant delay. We expected that the automatic mode would work better and that it could react faster to changes in the vacuumed surface.
The LED display has a strong backlight and the data on it can be seen very clearly. Dominated by information about the current battery capacity in percent, next to which you will also find information about the current mode and status of the HEPA filter.
Suction quality and performance Jimmy H8 Pro
Jimmy The H8 Pro has a suction power of up to 25 Pa or 000 AW. The power is taken care of by a high-quality, carbon-free motor with an output of 160 W. It is hidden in the main unit of the vacuum cleaner that you hold in your hand.
The suction power is sufficient and is amplified by a rotating brush in the floor nozzle, which touches the floor slightly, but does not scratch it thanks to fine bristles. The vacuum cleaner absorbs dirt well not only from the floor, but also from carpets with longer hair. Of course, it is not equivalent to a classic cable vacuum cleaner.
In all modes except eco mode, you can literally feel the power of the vacuum cleaner, which can sometimes be detrimental. When vacuuming using a floor nozzle, you can feel the vacuum cleaner being pulled by a rotating brush, as it touches the floor with its entire surface. We had to overcome the resistance that this brush creates, which makes it more difficult to maneuver and, in the strongest mode, literally pulls the vacuum cleaner out of your hands.
If we placed the vacuum cleaner with the floor nozzle lying on the ground and switched it on, it would immediately move forward by itself. We had to get used to vacuuming at the highest power, and after a while we didn't notice this phenomenon so much.
With the help of the enclosed extensions, we got to almost all places, even the less accessible ones. The problem, however, is a slightly wider body of the vacuum cleaner itself, due to which we sometimes could not get into narrow spaces. In our household we have an L-shaped sofa located about 25 cm from the window, but due to the width of the vacuum cleaner, we could not vacuum this space thoroughly.
The package also includes a plastic joint, which will help when vacuuming less accessible places, but unfortunately it is not usable with electric nozzles, which is a great pity. Can only be used with passive extensions. Electric nozzles can only be connected directly to the vacuum cleaner or to the main, aluminum rod, otherwise they will not be powered.
Cleaning the filter and waste container
The waste container is emptied very easily, by pressing one button, which opens the lid. Its volume is 0.5 l. On the opposite side, opposite the dust container, there is a cap under which the HEPA filter and cyclone are hidden. These parts are also easy to remove and wash under running water. It is also possible to remove the brushes from the electric nozzles and clean them or also wash them.
However, sometimes it is not enough to empty the dust container, but it is also necessary to dismantle the cyclone, around which the hair is caught together with the dust. Such cleaning is quite impractical and it is better to do it outdoors so that the dust does not get back into the room.
Endurance and charging
Jimmy H8 Pro has a removable battery with a capacity of 3000 mAh. It consists of seven lithium cells. The manufacturer states that the battery lasts 70 minutes in eco mode, 30 minutes in turbo mode and 15 minutes at maximum power. However, the times were measured using passive attachments. With electric nozzles, the manufacturer indicates a duration of 38 minutes in eco mode, 20 minutes in turbo mode and 13 minutes at maximum power.
Of course, we verified these data, but we only vacuumed with the help of a floor nozzle, as most people use a vacuum cleaner primarily to vacuum the floor area. To maintain a longer battery life, we did not vacuum until completely discharged, but we stopped the vacuum cleaner at a capacity of 20%.
We started at maximum power, where we got to 10 minutes. Here, however, after reaching 20% capacity, the vacuum cleaner automatically switches to a lower, turbo mode. In turbo mode it was almost 17 minutes and in eco mode 30 minutes. In the automatic mode, the endurance data is not very authoritative, as in each household there is a different ratio of different types of floors or carpets with different pile heights. In our household we have only 3 smaller carpets with long hair, which we passed twice during vacuuming and at a capacity of 20% the battery was discharged in 16 minutes.
The battery is charged in the enclosed charging station, where only the battery itself is placed, which is easily pushed out of the body of the vacuum cleaner. Charging from 20% to 100% took approximately 4 hours and 35 minutes.
Brief comparison with Dreame T20
Since we still use the Dreame T20 bar vacuum cleaner almost daily, we will briefly compare these 2 models. Both have a suction power of 25 Pa, a 000 mAh battery and an automatic, intelligent mode.
The Dreame T20 is 200 grams heavier, has a larger 0.1 L dirt container and a different floor brush design. Based on the parameters, these are almost the same models with minimal differences. However, we noticed a few differences when vacuuming.
It sucks emotionally Jimmy H8 Pro with a floor nozzle stronger, which is caused by a different design of the rotary brush. At the same time, this nozzle is slightly wider in the Dreame T20 vacuum cleaner, which can be a disadvantage when vacuuming narrow spaces. But the advantage is the narrower body of the Dreame vacuum cleaner, which is less of a hindrance in confined spaces. Jimmy The H8 Pro has a better-designed stand, which does not need to be mounted on the wall, and it has one more element in the package - a joint.
As for the automatic mode, it works a bit better with the vacuum cleaner from Dreame. It reacts faster to surface changes. There are several differences, but in the main discipline, which is vacuuming, both models are excellent and you will definitely be satisfied with either of them.
Jimmy H8 Pro: Final evaluation
Jimmy H8 Pro is a stick, cordless vacuum cleaner with an interesting design. It offers high suction power, a number of accessories in the package in the form of various extensions and a practical stand for storage.
Overall, we were satisfied with the vacuum cleaner. It can effectively vacuum not only floors, but also carpets with longer hair. However, it will freeze longer charging, which causes a significant disparity between the time of use and the time of charging.
Jimmy H8 Pro
I don't recommend it, it sucks too much in the max mode (the best) it can't pick up watermelon seeds, it gives a good idea with an apple, it doesn't have replaceable parts - filter - so the vacuum cleaner is bezwartosciowy
