The oblong white package contains the watch, a magnetic charging cable with a pair of pins and a user manual. There is an illustrative picture of the watch itself on the box.
Design and quality of workmanship
The very design of the watch suggests that it is intended for off-road use. They are dark gray and appear very high-quality and robust. The dial, or the display, is round. It is attached to the body of the watch 24 mm silicone strap. We'd say it's a unisex design that definitely won't offend anyone. The watch is constructed from 7000 series aluminum.
First impression was great, TicWatch 5 Pro Enduro they look premium. There is a notched frame around the display. The right side hosts the controls in the form of a button and a rotary crown with a red accent, which can be pressed and, of course, can also be turned to navigate the system. A microphone is placed below it.
The left side is empty at first glance, but in its lower part there is an inconspicuous grille for the speaker. When looking from below, you can see the sensors located in the middle and two pins for charging and two more whose purpose we do not know (apparently data pins, which the supplied charging cable does not have). The strap itself has fine notches with a sportier pattern. Tightening is very easy, and while wearing it, we did not feel that the watch should unfasten on its own.
First turn on and pair with your smartphone
The initial setup is very simple. The Android device detected new watches nearby automatically. After clicking on the corresponding notification in the status bar, the pairing took place via Bluetooth. It was enough to confirm that the code on the screen of the mobile phone and the watch is the same. If this does not happen, through the application Mobvoi Health register and connect the device manually.
The English text of the application will accompany you through the process. The watch is set for the most part via a mobile phone, from which you can log into the watch via your own Google account for the purpose of linking to Google services, how Google Play or Google Wallet.
The phone will also offer you to install applications on the watch that you have installed on it and that also exist in the pro version Wear OS. TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro after completing the initial setup, they will familiarize you with the basic navigation in the system. We tested the watch with a smartphone Xiaomi 14Ultra, for which, by the way, he is also preparing a review. You can look forward to it soon and it will be published on our website Xiaomi Planet.
Operating system and NFC payments
It is a smart watch with a full-fledged open operating system Wear OS in version 3.5. It also comes with an app store Google Play and the possibility of contactless payment via NFC. It is used Google WalletIn our experience, payment works very variable. In two grocery stores, the terminal refused our watch, but for example, electronics stores or drop boxes for picking up goods always worked reliably.
It probably depends on the specific terminals or operations whether paying with a watch via Google Wallet support. (Update 31.1.2025/XNUMX/XNUMX: TicWatch Atlas had the same problem in one of the stores, but worked in the other. So it may be a fault on the terminal side.) Apple Pay via Apple Watch, by the way, always worked 7000% in the same stores. You have a lot of watch faces to choose from, according to the manufacturer, there are over XNUMX available.
You can choose them through the application on your smartphone or in Google Play directly on the watch. You can change the ones you transfer to your watch directly from the watch face. Many watch faces, including the default one, display data such as time, date, steps, battery level, heart rate, and air pressure. Control and applications
As far as navigation in the system is concerned, pressing the rotary crown will take you back to the home screen, or the set watch face. A step back is a swipe across the display from the left side to the right. The top button is used to display recently opened applications. You can quickly switch between the last used application by pressing this button twice. You can turn off the watch by pressing and holding the top button for a long time. The menu will also give you the option to restart the watch.
As for the completeness of the translation, some applications, including their names, are in English. The settings menu is entirely in Slovak, but the contents of the dials, some modes and applications built in by the manufacturer, including Essential Mode, are in English. The Mobvoi Treadmill application is used to connect the watch with the Mobvoi treadmill.
One-tap measurement allows you to measure heart rate, blood oxygenation, breathing rate, stress level and heart health (detection of heart arrhythmia and other abnormalities such as tachycardia, bradycardia or atrial fibrillation) at the same time. Sports activities are recorded via TicExercise. The choice is over 110 indoor and outdoor activities, which can be recorded.
The application provides its statistics on the training performed and a comprehensive view of your health TicHealth. On its initial screen, you can immediately see the calories burned, the number of steps taken, active minutes, standing hours, floors climbed, distance traveled, heart rate and blood oxygenation (from the last measurement, the measurement frequency is adjustable). In addition, there is also information on the level of stress, the number of hours and minutes slept, and you will also see the fulfillment of your weekly goals for physical activity.
Notifications, watch responses and calls
In the basic setting, all notifications arriving on the paired smartphone will also be displayed by the watch. Fortunately, this can be changed in the device settings in the mobile app Mobvoi Health. The reliability of receiving notifications is excellent. During the testing period, we did not have the watch fail to notify us of something in time.
If you receive emojis in a message, your watch will display them nicely. There is no problem with that, and of course neither with diacritics. You will even be shown the photos received, which we have to highlight. Again, we only had a problem with the Messenger application. Received images were not displayed, but that's not the biggest problem.
Unsubscribing from Messenger just doesn't work. We write the message on the keyboard of the watch, we send it, and the animation of successful sending appears, but in reality this does not happen. We hope that the manufacturer will finally be able to solve this with a software update, because Facebook Messenger is probably the most used chat application in our area.
In other applications tested by us, such as WhatsApp or classic SMS, sending messages works. As for Bluetooth calls, they are of course made via a smartphone and only sound is transmitted to the watch and the microphone is switched. The watch itself does not support eSIM.
In the case of incoming calls, it is possible to see the name of the contact (or also his photo, if it was set), or the phone number of the unknown caller. The call can be rejected or accepted via the watch. The loudspeaker is quite quiet, and the surrounding sounds can easily make the call impossible during a phone call outdoors. It's fine in the interior, but the speaker quality is quite poor. However, the other party did not complain about the quality of our voice.
Display
The screen has 1,43-inch diagonal and resolution 466 x 466 px, resulting in a fineness of 326 pixels per inch. The durability of the watch is also evidenced by the sapphire crystal glass. The watch display is really special.
Better to say, there are exactly two displays available - a full-sized one AMOLED panel and ultra-saving FSTN display for displaying basic data in the Always On state. It is he who has a huge credit for the excellent battery life.
If you want to use the Always On function, we definitely recommend using this type of display. You can set the color of its backlight according to your preferences.
The backlight is turned off by default and only turns on when you start interacting with the watch or turn your hand. We like the color change depending on the current heart rate.
Six heart rate stages are recognized - "Resting", "Warm Up", "Fat Burn", "Cardio", "Anaerobic" and "Dangerous", each one is distinguished by a different color.
By turning the crown, you can switch what this ultra-saving Always On display shows. By default it is the time, but it can also be the number of calories burned, blood oxygenation rate, heart rate or compass scale.
The time display will move to the top if other information is being displayed. In the lower section there is always an icon with an indicator of its charge level. If the time is displayed in the middle, the date is on top. If a notification is received, the corresponding icon will appear.
Performance and connectivity
Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro they are premium not only on the outside, but also on the inside. The heart of the device is a great chipset Snapdragon W5 + Gen 1. There is 2 GB memory and 32 GB internal storage space. The watch system is very fast and smooth.
You only need to wait longer when switching to/from Essential mode. The connection to the smartphone ensures Bluetooth 5.2. The watch supports connection to 2,4 GHz Wi-Fi. GPS, Beidou, Glonass, Galileo and QZSS location services are available for location determination. It usually takes about 15 seconds to get into position before starting a sporting activity.
Battery life, charging and Essential mode
TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro they lasted us for one charge roughly 3-4 days. This is a great result considering that the watch has an open or refined operating system. 3 days was a reality when we had continuous vital signs on.
If we turned off some functions and exercised less during the day, we managed to get closer to four days. Essential fashion plays an important role together with the ultra-saving display. We tried setting it to automatically activate after 22pm and it deactivated at 00am the next day.
In this mode, the watch only uses the energy-saving display to display basic data. To deactivate Essential fashion it is necessary to press and hold the upper button above the rotating crown for a few seconds. According to the manufacturer, the watch can stay charged in this mode up to 45 days.
That's right Essential fashion automatically activates when the battery charge level drops below 5% (the specific percentage can be set according to your preferences). The top-up can be charged in just one hour.

Record of sports activities
During our testing, we managed to record dozens of training sessions on the watch. These were walking (outdoors and on the belt, while walking outside was detected and recorded automatically by the watch), cycling, volleyball and traditional strength training in the gym.
If it is an outdoor activity, GPS location services are used and in the application you will see the route traveled with kilometer markers and color-coded parts of the route for different speeds. On the attached screenshots, you can see what statistics are recorded from the training sessions.

Sleep monitoring
Automatic sleep monitoring is horrible. Only about half of sleep was always recorded. If we fell asleep before midnight, for example, the watch often recorded sleep for up to two and a half hours. Other times, sleep detection was fine. It is very variable.
For more accurate sleep monitoring, we recommend starting the recording via the application Mobvoi Health. Place the phone somewhere close to you so that snoring can also be recorded. You can then listen to it and check the time, when and how long you snored.
However, the application often confuses it with other sounds, such as unintelligible talking. However, it is interesting to listen to it afterwards. According to the results we received, the smartphone takes care of the sound recording.

We have no doubt that TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro they are an excellent choice (not only) for physically active people. They are characterized by a simple design that combines sport with elegance.
They have an open operating system Wear OS and a very decent battery life reaching 3-4 days. Compared to models with a closed system, it may seem like nothing much, well Wear OS the watch tends to stay charged even shorter. Thanks to the special ultra-saving Always On display.
It goes without saying that it is nice to watch sports activities, to be present NFC for contactless payments (which, unfortunately, did not work 100 percent) and replies to messages using the keyboard directly from the watch screen are also supported. Through TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro you can also pick up incoming calls and you don't have to be afraid to step out into the field with them thanks to their high resistance.
