In today's review, we will focus on the KOORUI 34E6UC monitor that got our attention on Banggoode. At first glance, its specifications are very close to the well-known Samsung G5 monitor, specifically its 34-inch ultrawide version. Although the monitor comes from a lesser-known Chinese brand called KOORUI, the monitor outperforms the Samsung G5 in many ways.

Briefly about the KOORUI brand
KOORUI is a newer brand on the market, part of the larger HKC company, which has a long history in the technology industry. It was founded on May 4, 2021 and specializes in the development, design and sale of electronic products, especially in the segment of displays and monitors.
The brand sells its products globally, primarily through online platforms such as Banggood, Amazon, TikTok and in America also Walmart.
Content and quality of packaging
The curved monitor was delivered to us by courier in a fairly large brown box. As usual, it was packed in two layers - an outer protective box and an inner box that provided additional protection during shipping. Inside, the monitor was safely encased between two polystyrene pads that precisely replicated its curved construction, providing extra protection.
Although we're always a bit concerned about the safety of monitors when shipping them, this monitor arrived without any signs of damage. In one part of the polystyrene, the monitor itself was stored, in the other the stand (split into two parts), a power cable with an adapter, a basic HDMI cable and a manual with assembly instructions.
The composition of the monitor is very intuitive
Although a simple illustrated manual is included in the package, you can assemble the monitor without using it. First, let's focus on the pedestal, which consists of two parts. You simply connect these parts and screw them by hand using the screw on the bottom, which is designed so that you don't need a screwdriver to tighten it.
Then you firmly snap the stand into the back of the monitor. It is recommended to place the monitor with the display facing down on a flat surface to make the whole process safe and easy. The entire composition takes only a few minutes and does not require any special tools. The base has a handy "eye" for organizing cables, and above the base you will also find a nice detail in red.
Ultra-wide curved display
First, let's break down the basic technical parameters of the KOORUI 34E6UC monitor so that you know what we are dealing with. It's about 34-inch 1440p UltraWide VA panel with refresh rate 165 Hz and response 1 millisecond.
Since it is an ultrawide monitor, it has an aspect ratio 21:9 and one of the most interesting features is the curvature 1000R, which became popular thanks to models like the Samsung Odyssey. This monitor covers 90% DCI-P3 color gamut, 100% sRGB color gamut and has a contrast ratio 3000:1. The maximum brightness is 400 rivets and the monitor is certified for VESA HDR 400, but without local dimming zones.
Connectivity and tilt
As for ports, the monitor has one DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.0 and an audio jack, which is suitable for connecting external speakers or headphones, since the manufacturer did not integrate built-in speakers into the 34E6UC model. From the physical settings, it can be raised and lowered by 110 millimeters, turned left and right by 15 degrees, and tilted 5 degrees forward and 20 degrees backward.
Monitor settings
Next, we will look at the panel settings. The monitor has a single button located on the right side that acts as a joystick, which we consider an advantage because it is more practical than using multiple buttons. After opening the menu, quick access is first displayed, followed by the main settings.
In the settings section, you will find the FreeSync Premium option and a function to highlight dark areas of the image, which is used for better visibility of shadows. There is also a response setting with three levels: normal, fast and fastest.
If you have a problem with the so-called "Screen tearing", we recommend that you turn on Adaptive Sync (FreeSync or G-Sync) in the monitor settings. This technology synchronizes the refresh rate of the monitor with the output of the graphics card, thus minimizing or completely eliminating this problem.
KOORUI 34E6UC: Pluses
Let's start with the positives. KOORUI's curved ultrawide monitor provides an immersive experience with a larger field of view at a very competitive price, enhancing gaming and multimedia content consumption. Color reproduction is fairly accurate and viewing angles are sufficient, so the image remains vivid and consistent no matter what angle we look at it.
As for the performance of the monitor during gaming, the monitor offers satisfactory results. The fast refresh rate and low response attempt to correct motion blur and ghosting, making it suitable for casual gaming. While it may not satisfy the needs of professional gamers, it provides a sufficient gaming experience for most enthusiasts.
KOORUI 34E6UC: Negative
Ghosting and black mark issues
One of the main problems of this monitor, in our opinion, is ghosting, which occurs regardless of settings. Although the fastest response setting helps reduce ghosting, the difference is not significant. Without a dedicated motion tracking camera, it's clear that ghosting is still present and the image is blurry, which can be a problem for gamers who require fast response.
The KOORUI monitor also suffers from the so-called "black trail" (from the English "black smearing") - a shadow effect behind fast-moving objects, although this phenomenon was not as pronounced as ghosting during our testing. After turning off FreeSync, the Motion Picture Response Time function can be activated, which allows increasing the response of the monitor and reducing image blur. Although it helps to improve the clarity of individual frames, ghosting still does not disappear completely.
VESA support 75 x 75 mm
Although the KOORUI monitor offers good performance and images, its VESA mount limitations are a bit disappointing. The monitor has maximum compatibility with a 75 x 75 mm VESA mount, which does not allow mounting on the usual standard 100 x 100 mm, which is found on most mounting solutions. So if you plan to hang the monitor, don't forget this information.
Limited tilt options
Another negative is the lack of ergonomic stand adjustment options. While the monitor does offer some tilt, it lacks height adjustment, pivot and more flexible side-to-side rotation, limiting customization for those who like to customize their monitor.
Limited connectivity options
In terms of connectivity, the monitor offers two HDMI ports and one DisplayPort, which should suit most users. However, if you plan to connect multiple devices at once, it can be limiting if you want to use the monitor for work and play at the same time and need to quickly switch between different devices.
Nice design, but less practical notches
As a small minus, we see small notches on the upper side of the monitor frame, which are probably used for passive cooling. At first glance, they look stylish and modern, but from a practical point of view it is not such a win. Dust will settle in these grooves and it will not be easy to clean it from there.
Final evaluation: KOORUI 34E6UC
The KOORUI 34E6UC monitor brings several positives that will please gamers in particular. Its wide-angle curved display is designed to improve immersion in the game - peripheral vision combined with the curvature of the screen creates the effect of being right in the middle of the action. Especially in action games, where objects often move sideways, this effect enhances the overall experience.
On the other hand, when working with vertical objects or lines, the curvature can be a bit strange and may not suit everyone. Likewise, the 3440 x 1440 resolution isn't exactly ideal for working with text – small fonts can look less sharp, which can be a problem when working with text or graphics for a long time. However, this resolution is fully sufficient for playing games.
In terms of brightness, although the monitor achieves 400 nits, it could be a bit higher to make the image even more dynamic, especially in high-contrast scenes or in brighter rooms. The HDR 400 certification only provides a basic level of HDR, so the lack of local dimming may be another limiting factor.
The limited VESA compatibility to 75 x 75 mm and the lack of ergonomic adjustment that only offers basic height and tilt adjustments can be a disadvantage for users who require more flexibility in mounting and adjusting the monitor.
Overall, the KOORUI 34E6UC is a great choice for gamers looking for an affordable monitor with an immersive curved display and solid performance. For those who plan to use the monitor mainly for work, some aspects such as curvature and resolution may be a bit of a disadvantage.
