We have already tested the powerful D88 electric scooter from the DUOTTS brand or the C29 mountain bike. In the third place, we have a bicycle again, but from a different category. It is an off-road fatbike with two engines, DUOTTS S26.
In the review, we will traditionally first look at the quality and contents of the package, but we will not miss our favorite range test on a single charge. We're particularly curious about this model, as it excels in several ways on paper.

Content and quality of packaging
The DUOTTS S26 electric fatbike was brought to us by the SPS courier in a box with dimensions of 148 x 29 x 77 cm with a total weight of almost 50 kg. However, the box includes a pair of grab handles, so two people can carry it easily.
Inside, the bike is in a disassembled state, without handlebars, front wheel and other components, of which there are quite a lot. However, everything is protected very well with various foam protectors and pulled down with zip ties so that nothing gets damaged during shipping. In this case, the battery, which is not placed in the frame, is also wrapped separately.
However, dismantling the packaging material takes quite a lot of time. In addition to the basic components, we also find a couple of gifts in the box. It is a smaller hand pump and smartphone holder.
Allow more time for assembly
After successfully unpacking all the components and removing the protective braces, we started assembling the bike. Even one person can do it without any problems, but count on a longer duration, since there are quite a lot of components that you need to fix.
We started traditionally, with the stem and handlebar mount. However, the stem in this case is turned towards the inside of the frame, so we first had to loosen a pair of side screws to be able to straighten it.
Subsequently, we opened the stem by unscrewing the four screws where we inserted the handlebars. Here we noticed that we were missing one small screw that holds the display to the handlebars. Unfortunately, we couldn't find it anywhere in the box.
The second step led to the assembly of the seat. It has an extra long seat post so it will suit even taller riders. We continued with fixing the front wheel, which this time also contains the motor, so in addition to tightening the nuts, it is also necessary to connect the cable and fix it so that it does not interfere while driving. The manufacturer includes several tightening straps.
Next, we mounted the pedals and the front light. Then we continued with the rear carrier, which is not a mandatory element, but it has a rear light, which we would otherwise miss. Don't forget to connect and fasten the cable to the light.
You will also find mudguards in the package, but we skipped their assembly, as we were not going to drive in wet terrain. Subsequently, we attached the orange reflectors to the wheel spokes and inserted the battery into the frame.
Design and quality of workmanship
In terms of design, the DUOTTS S26 looks pretty good. The frame combines black with red, which never spoil anything. At first glance, however, the bike looks somewhat crowded and massive, which is not helped by the battery, which is large and not embedded in the frame at all.
The total weight of up to 42 kg is also not pleasing, which makes the bike definitely one of the heaviest bikes we have ever tested. The weight is increased by the second motor and the large battery.
Unlike the DUOTTS C29 mountain bike, which we criticized for the unsightly plastic box for the controller on the bottom of the frame, the new DUOTTS S26 no longer has it. The controller is housed in a housing around the central axis of the bike, which at first glance gives the impression that there is a motor.
The frame is otherwise made of aluminum alloy and its quality is standard. However, we would like to see some components of better quality, but we will talk about them in the following chapters.
Wide handlebars and bike geometry
The DUOTTS S26 has a full-suspension frame with quite nice geometry that should suit even taller riders. The total length of the bicycle is 195 cm, and the seat can be adjusted to a height of 87-103 cm from the ground. You can also find the detailed dimensions of the entire frame in the picture below.
The generous handlebars with a total width of 71 cm will also please you. They are located at a height of approximately 110 cm from the ground.
On the left side of the handlebars we find the brake lever of the front brake and a pair of control elements with buttons. The first one houses the light controller, the engine switch and the horn. The second controller has buttons for switching between "+" and "-" modes along with an on and off button.
In the middle part there is a large and clear LCD display, where we can also find a film with a QR code, since the bike even has Bluetooth and we can add it to the smartphone application. The display graphics are simple and clear.
On the right side of the handlebars is an unsightly plastic element with a USB-A port, thanks to which you can charge your smartphone while driving. Then there is the brake lever of the rear brake and the Shimano shifter, which spoils the whole impression of the bike. We do not understand why the manufacturer chose this completely basic and mainly outdated model.
The manufacturer also includes a gas controller, the so-called a half-rotating grip, which we personally mounted on the handlebars immediately during assembly. Although the original grip does not come down from the handlebars too easily and we had a little trouble with it, everyone can definitely do it.
Engine, speed unlock and driving modes
The DUOTTS S26 electric fatbike stands out with a pair of motors, each of which has a power of 750 W. As we mentioned in the introduction, both motors are stored in the wheels and the controller has found its location around the central assembly.
There are 5 assistance modes, as well as zero, which offers the possibility of cycling without an electric drive. It should be mentioned here that the bike is really difficult to cycle, especially due to the high weight.
Modes 1 to 5 are graded according to the maximum speed at which the bike immediately starts after turning the pedals. The maximum speed is preset to 25 km/h.
However, in the hidden menu, which can be reached by holding down the "+" and "-" buttons, we can find the speed increase under the P08 option. Here it works slightly differently than other bikes. It is not enough to set a higher number than 25, but we need to set exactly 67 to unlock the speed.
After doing this, the top speed increases to about 55 km/h, which is very decent. In mode 1, after unlocking, the bike starts at 22 km/h, in the second mode it is 30 km/h, in the third 38 km/h, in the fourth it is already 45 km/h and the highest we reach is the mentioned 55 km/h.
Acceleration and overall performance
What surprises us, however, is the different behavior of the engines when turning with the pedals and when adding gas using the rotary handle. If we turn the pedals, the motors are automatically activated and engage really very solidly. When powered by one engine, the acceleration is of course significantly weaker.
It is strange, however, that if we add gas using the rotary handle, the acceleration is much weaker, almost the same when driving with two or one engine. To make matters worse, the maximum speed is also significantly lower if we use this throttle. In this case, the maximum speed is somewhere around 43 km/h, while when turning the pedals, the bike runs up to 55 km/h without any problems.
The overall performance of this fatbike is very good, but on steep and long hills, of course, due to its weight, it slows down considerably, even below 25 km/h.
An application that is more or less useless
As we mentioned earlier, the bike has Bluetooth and allows you to add it to the DUOTTS app on your smartphone. The app requires registration and login, but adding a bike afterwards is quite easy.
The application displays some basic data, such as the percentage of the battery, which is, however, inaccurate and skips various times, the current speed, the drive mode with the option of switching, the distance traveled, the time since it was turned on, and a few settings.
These include setting the speed units, cruise control and starting from zero. Except for these settings, the application is quite useless, since even the percentage of the battery is not displayed correctly.
Battery and range on one charge
A big attraction of the DUOTTS S26 bike is also its 48 V / 20 Ah battery, which according to the manufacturer should have a cell from Samsung. The branded battery is a big plus, but unfortunately we can't verify whether these branded cells are actually inside.
According to the manufacturer, we should achieve a range of 40-60 km in purely electric mode. We mostly used the bike in the highest gear with the dual drive on.
We started the ride in Košice and continued to the surrounding villages. So we went slower in the beginning, but once we got out of the city, we accelerated to the maximum and most of the time we maintained the maximum speed, or as much as the conditions allowed.
At the end, we also tried off-road driving, so we left the KVP housing estate in Košice by going up to Horný Bankov, through a meadow and a forest. Our ride ended with a longer descent, when the last part of the battery had already disappeared and the Strava application measured the length of the route at 39.49 km. We cranked the pedals only at idle and our editor weighs 75 kg.
However, the app was still showing 20%, but this was probably a wrong figure as it had been showing this capacity for quite some time. We stopped tracking the ride at this point, but even with the battery symbol flashing, we still covered 4.5 km before we got home. In total, we traveled 43.99 km, which is a very good figure for such a weight of the bike.
We can charge the battery separately or on the bike. However, it takes 8-10 hours.
Suspension, wheels and comfort while driving
What kind of fatbike would it be without big and wide wheels. The DUOTTS S26 got 26 x 4″ tires that only inflate to 20 PSI. They have an off-road pattern and excellently cushion unevenness.
Being a full-suspension bike, there is a standard lockable spring fork at the front and a second shock at the rear. This is just a kind of simple, basic model. Don't expect anything special.
Unfortunately, while riding, we didn't feel like we were sitting on a full-suspension bike. The front fork occasionally knocks, sometimes rattles and bangs, and the rear shock absorber is too stiff. It handles easy terrain in the form of a nice forest or field road well, but if we come across a rocky or more bumpy road, the bike knocks us out nicely.
In addition, even the wide saddle was not very comfortable for us during a long ride.
Hydraulic disc brakes and shifting
If the suspension disappointed us, at least the good brakes will please us. They are hydraulic discs with distinctive red aluminum calipers. As for their braking effect, it is decent and we had no problem stopping even such a heavy bike in emergency situations. In this case, the disc has a diameter of 180 mm.
We have available 7 speeds with shifting from the popular Shimano brand. However, shifting on the handlebars represents only a completely cheap and basic model, which we absolutely do not understand. The manufacturer could have at least reached for Shimano Altus shifting, which costs a few pennies and offers much better functionality and overall impression.
Since we only turn the pedals when driving fast, it would be worth considering a second transmission, thanks to which we would get heavier gears.
lighting
In front we find a white light that is larger than usual. It definitely shines better than most Chinese e-bikes, but it could use a bit wider dispersion. However, you can cycle with it without any problems even after dark.
We were more pleased with the rear light, which is relatively wide and very visible. It's just a pity that the manufacturer decided to attach it to the rear rack. Personally, we would not install this carrier on our bike at all if we had the option to move the light to another place.
DUOTTS S26: Final evaluation
The DUOTTS S26 electric fatbike definitely impresses at first sight with its massive construction and large 20 Ah battery. By the way, it should have cells from Samsung, which is a big plus.
The bike is powered by two 750 W motors. This equipment ensures a maximum speed of 55 km/h and a decent range even in purely electric mode. A clear and easily visible display or high-quality hydraulic brakes will also please you.
However, the tax for such equipment is a high weight of up to 42 kg. There are also components that have been skimped on, including cheap Shimano gearing and lower quality suspension.
