Packaging: Pleasant extra accessories
Headphones BlitzWolf BW-HP2 they arrive in a practical package made of hard paper, which is larger in size, compared to, for example, the packaging of a smartphone. The box is green and white, while it also contains the product designation and basic technical specifications.
After unpacking, a slightly cheap and hard plastic box appears in the space of the box. It hides the headphones themselves, folded and wrapped in a protective foil. In addition, the package contains brief paper instructions for use and accessories, for which we are really grateful at this price.
The accessories consist of the enclosed power cable with a terminal microUSBbut also in a double audio cable 3,5 mm tip for cable music playback from your device. This cable is coated with a textile cover, is pleasant to the touch and looks durable.
Quality construction
The vast majority of the body of these headphones is made of high quality ABS plastic materials. Given the price, this is an understandable choice, but for example the hinges for the composition are metal and the earbuds are coated in a comfortable leatherette and fabric materials.
As for the construction itself, we did not expect great stability and such a high quality of workmanship. These headphones can easily be compared to several times more expensive devices, at least in terms of construction. The weight of the headphones also stopped at an interesting value, it is only 240 grams.
The bridge that connects the two earbuds is plastic on the top and has a soft leatherette material on the inside, which improves wearing comfort. These materials pass directly into metal hinges, which are also covered with plastic on the outside and also contain a small manufacturer's logo on both sides.
The hinges as such are solid, they look really good and we are not worried about their functionality even after a few weeks of use. A plus is also painting in black from the inside when extended to the maximum size.
If you still find that the hinges have some play over time, it is possible to tighten them with an appropriate Phillips screwdriver through a pair of screws.
Device layout
Just above the earrings and the plastic structure that connects them to the headphone bridge, there are L and R markings depending on which headphone belongs to the left and right side. These locations also include the model designation, selected technical specifications, and recycling information.
However, let's move on to the most important thing, and that is the earrings themselves. The plastic construction that connects them offers clearance and placement at multiple angles, which also makes wearing more pleasant. The left handset is empty and has only a knurled plastic surface on the outside that is not touch.
The right side is more interesting. From the bottom there is a switch to turn on and off the device, along with an LED that shows the connection status. There is also a 3,5 mm audio connector for cable listening and a microphone for telephony. There is also a microUSB charging connector and a slightly hidden slot for inserting a microSD memory card on this side.
There are controls on the outside of the right handset. There are also buttons for volume control, but also for skipping the song forward and backward. A very welcome element is also the touch surface. Its main function is one press to pause / resume playback.
Connectivity: Bluetooth, audio jack and SD card
When it comes to connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0 technology is available. It is reliable, offers the possibility of displaying the current battery capacity directly in the top line on the smartphone and a range of 10 meters. However, what the headphones do not contain is an NFC chip. With this technology, you can't pair headphones faster, which is a shame.
In addition to wireless technology, there is also a cable connection via the aforementioned double-sided cable with a 3,5 mm audio connector. Another way is to play music through the inserted microSD memory card. However, you must prepare the files for the memory card in advance, which can be impractical.
A very practical function is also a pair of connected devices at the same time. No, in this case the sound does not mix from two devices at the same time, but it is a practical function where the headphones are paired with two devices and switching between them is very fast and easy.
Sound: "Noice cancelling" and graphene membrane
Audio delivery is also a very important component of all types of headphones. In addition to comfortable wearing thanks to the soft materials, up to 50 mm transducers are available (previous generations of BlitzWolf headphones offered 40 mm transducers) with a range of 20 - 20000 Hz.
There is also a sensitivity of 108 +/- 3dB, but also an impedance of 32 ohms. Support for HSP / HFP / A2DP / AVRCP profiles will also be pleasing. Paper resp. table values are one view, but a completely different view is the use in the real environment.
From our point of view, the headphones dampen the gentle ambient noise very well, for example in the office, and the manufacturer does not lie in the product description. However, we can owe the excellent insulation to the earrings used, which, despite the sound insulation, breathe well and the ears do not sweat unnecessarily in them.
As for the sound itself, it is explicitly targeted at the young user. This is evidenced by a decent maximum volume, but also a strong, straight to primary bass component. The treble and midtones are average but well recognizable. However, these are not headphones for listening to acoustic music or instruments.
In this price category, however, it was a very good sound presentation, while the headphones even offer a graphene diaphragm in their equipment. We used the headphones at approximately 70% volume, mainly for spoken word, punk, pop and electronic music.
Low price and decent sound are just the attributes we were looking for for our work from home, but also for leisure.
Battery life: 1000 mAh
Headphones BlitzWolf BW-HP2 offer in their equipment a battery with a total capacity of up to 1000 mAh. Given that previous generations offered a capacity of around 400 mAh, this is a very good value and a significant improvement.
A slight hesitation is the use of an older microUSB connector, which does not offer fast charging. These headphones can be charged to full capacity in up to 3,5 hours. For this reason, we charged especially at night.
A pleasant surprise, however, is the overall endurance. Using Bluetooth technology and 70% volume, the headphones offer up to 42 hours of endurance. In addition, the manufacturer declares that in 10 minutes of charging it is possible to achieve energy for up to 7,5 hours of listening.
According to the manufacturer, the stand-by mode should suffice for up to 600 hours, which is also a very interesting value. These values can be confirmed after thorough testing and the manufacturer does not exaggerate in this case either.
