We would not be true fans of Chinese brands if we did not pit the current two most powerful flagships from renowned manufacturers Xiaomi and OnePlus. Their top smartphones this year, Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro a OnePlus 8 Pro, are already available and we have compared their technical specifications.
Many common features suggest today's trends
Both compared devices have more in common than we would expect. It can be said that they indicate the standard of a high-end smartphone of today, perhaps that is why they have so many features in common. However, several differences were found and we will try to evaluate them.

Design evaluation
In a recent comparison of cheaper versions of flagships Xiaomi Mi 10 and OnePlus 8 we had a similar problem when evaluating the design. Even the Pro versions have more or less retained the look of their cheaper versions, but the OnePlus has grown slightly.
The smartphones being compared are too similar to each other, and it is difficult at first glance to determine unambiguously which of them has the upper hand over the latter. For purely subjective reasons, we are more inclined to the OnePlus model, which has an optically slimmer design. We also like placing his cameras in one line in the middle of the body.
For OnePlus, they also say the technical specifications according to which it has a full 9 grams less weight.
OnePlus 8 with IP68
We will also include in this category the durability of the smartphone's body, which forms its visual side. OnePlus 8 Pro has been certified IP68, thanks to which it should be able to withstand the water pressure at a depth of 1,5 m below the surface for 30 minutes without damage. Mi 10 Pro does not catch with splash resistance, although we have already seen that unofficially can do more.
The overall design, lower weight and water resistance have decided to give our thumbs up for the OnePlus 8 Pro in this category.
Status after the first round: Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro vs. OnePlus 8 Pro - 0: 1
Display
The OnePlus manufacturer slapped his pocket and equipped his premium model with a truly top-notch display with above-standard specifications. Xiaomi has no chance against them. Both are super AMOLED panels, but the 8 Pro display has a much finer resolution and an amazing refresh rate of 120 Hz. It has a rapidly higher sampling frequency and maximum brightness value.
The OnePlus 8 Pro display also received a rating DisplayMate A + along with 13 other records in the field, earning him the title the best display in the world.
The protection standard in the case of the "eight" is Gorilla Glass 6 and in Xiaomi it is a degree lower in the same class of protection.
Otherwise, the displays are quite similar in appearance. Firstly, by rounding the side edges, which optically slimmer both smartphones, but also by placing a perforation for the front camera. Both smartphones also have a fingerprint sensor located below the display.
Status after the second round: Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro vs. OnePlus 8 Pro - 0: 2
Performance
Both brands have almost equally equipped smartphones. A little extra is the Mi 10 Pro in the form of a version with 512 GB of storage, which is missing in 1+. The measured performance of both devices is literally huge and reaches the first place in the world ranking of all brands.
The difference in performance can be caused by software optimization. However, these deviations are negligible in normal use. The user would have to literally have both smartphones next to each other and test their responses. However, the visual difference may be due to a better-equipped OnePlus display with faster responses than power variance.
We also found one comparison video in which OnePlus 8 Pro seems to be on top:
However, when evaluating performance, we rely on the measured score in the AnTuTu performance test and also on the higher memory version that the Mi 10 Pro model has. This smartphone is gaining a point in this category.
Status after the third round: Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro vs. OnePlus 8 Pro - 1: 2
Cameras
It is not easy to compare camera sets of flagships that we do not yet have the opportunity to try. We can rely solely on specifications, but these can be commercially misleading. What is certain, however, is that the Mi 10 Pro won first place in the ranking of renowned ratings at the time of its performance. DxOmark. OnePlus has not been rated by this team yet.
In terms of specifications, the Xiaomi smartphone is also better off, mainly due to its large 108 MPx sensor with eight lenses. The photographic equipment in the Mi 10 Pro is better in terms of optical zoom or high-definition video production up to 8K.
The front camera also has a higher resolution, which again highlights the Mi 10 Pro. However, we are convinced that both smartphones take excellent photos and that the real differences in specifications are lost in real testing. Finally, you can see for yourself by watching the following video:
In the end, whether you choose any of these smartphones, we think that you will not be disappointed with the photos or videos. On the contrary. After comparing the parameters, however, the Mi 10 Pro is better and thanks to the DxOMark rating, we give it a point in this category.
Status after the fourth round: Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro vs. OnePlus 8 Pro - 2: 2
Other equipment
Other equipment is almost the same for both devices except for a few details. OnePlus 8 Pro is for all customers in the world Dual SIM smartphone, while the Mi 10 Pro in its global version is only equipped with a slot for one SIM card and we evaluate that as a minus.
Mi 10 Pro has in addition infrared port, which offers remote control options for other devices. OnePlus, in turn, has a faster version USB C connector. We do not find more differences in the standard equipment.
Both Xiaomi and OnePlus support 5G networks, WiFi 6, dual GPS and Bluetooth 5.1. Point from us for Dual SIM version gets OnePlus.
Status after the fifth round: Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro vs. OnePlus 8 Pro - 2: 3
Battery and charging
We also find a rare match when comparing batteries. However, Xiaomi wins due to much faster cable charging in power up to 50 W. It also has a higher reverse charging parameter and since the capacity of the batteries is almost the same, the winner is clear.
Status after the sixth round: Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro vs. OnePlus 8 Pro - 3: 3
As we expected, a very even fight was confirmed and before us is the last category, which is the comparison of selling prices. Will the final decision be decisive and will the prizes weigh in determining the final winner?
Price comparison
This is where things get a little confusing for us, because we did not find the same memory version of both smartphones in the currently available lowest prices. However, we will also try to compare the official prices and somehow decide the battle.
Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro was launched in the global version on the European market for 999 € (8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage). At the moment, however, the Mi 10 Pro is not available for sale, but its price at Banggoode was around € 800. If available, we will definitely inform you.
OnePlus 8 Pro is officially available for 899 € (8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage). However, it can be purchased in both memory versions at much lower prices from our verified global resellers, as you can see below in our price box.
Even though there is more confusion in the end than we expected, we will nevertheless favor one of them.
For us, it is OnePlus 8 Pro due to the lower introductory price, where the difference is up to 100 €. Currently, only OnePlus 8 Pro is available from global retailers for pre-order and the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro is not in stock.

Evaluation
Our point evaluation of individual parameters is approximately equal to our subjective decision. Although the OnePlus 8 Pro won only very narrowly, we would have chosen this particular smartphone. And why?
The new flagship from OnePlus has the best display in the world. It's the part of the smartphone that the user works with most often, and the OnePlus makes me unrivaled.
Apart from the fact that we also like the design more, we must state that it does not lag behind in other parameters. That is, except for the specifications of the cameras, of which you will definitely not be disappointed even with OnePlus. A little slower fast charging will not significantly hold you back, and more favorable prices are just the icing on the cake. Our winner is OnePlus 8 Pro and which smartphone won you?
