Display: Fluid AMOLED
It is the short pause of the official performance that will ensure that the technical specifications are very similar. All three smartphones are offered in their equipment Fluid AMOLED display with HDR10 + technology and Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
However, the main difference of the latest OnePlus 8T is in the shape of the display - while the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro offer the so-called "waterfall display", the newest of the trio is fitted with a classic one flat panel, which pleased a lot of fans and we give them a plus for that as well. Curved displays cause problems with the protective glass and often with operation.
Model OnePlus 8 offers a 20: 9 aspect ratio, a 6,55 ″ diagonal and Full HD + resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels). The fineness of this display has stopped at 402 ppi and will offer a refresh rate of 90 Hz.
OnePlus 8 Pro offers an improved panel with a diagonal of 6,78 ″, with a resolution of 1440p (3168 x 1440 pixels). The fineness has thus increased up to 513 ppi and the refresh rate is also higher, which in this case has stopped at a value of up to 120 Hz.
The latest model brings a kind of imaginary center and a subtle compromise from both worlds OnePlus 8T. The equipment of this device offers a diagonal of 6,55 ″, Full HD + resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels) and has a high refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.
Performance: Three times Snadragon 865
The performance side is also very similar, given the introduction of all three devices in April and October 2020. The equipment of all three models includes an eight-core flag processor Snapdragon 865 made 7 nm + technology. It is complemented in all smartphones by the Adreno 650 graphics accelerator.
The number of users expected the latest Snapdragon 865 +, but it is used this year with a really minimal number of smartphones. The Chinese giant decided to omit it, probably due to its price and a slight difference in performance compared to the basic Snapdragon 865. This step makes logic and so they could save on the device.
There is no doubt that this equipment can handle demanding multitasking and every, really every application from the Play Store, including graphically demanding games. The three devices come in an 8/12 GB RAM configuration as well as 128/256 GB storage type UFS 3.0 (OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro) resp. UFS 3.1 (OnePlus 8T). They do not offer a micro SD card slot.
Camera: Again old familiar 48 Mpx Sony sensor
As for the camera, in this case, the situation is slightly complicated. OnePlus 8 offers three rear cameras. This is a major 48 MPx Sony IMX586 sensor with optical stabilization, which is also complemented by a 16 MPx ultra-wide sensor and a 2 MPx macro sensor. The video can be recorded in a resolution of up to 4K (30/60 fps) and the front camera offers 16 MPx, while it is placed in a space in the display.
OnePlus 8 Pro already offers four rear sensors. The main one Sony IMX689 offers 48 MPx, laser focusing and optical stabilization. This camera is complemented by another 48 MPx sensor, which is wide angle with an angle of view 120 degrees and at the same time acts as a macro sensor. There is also an 8 MPx telephoto lens with optical stabilization and 3x optical zoom. Fourth is controversial 5 MPx Color-filter sensor, about which we wrote a separate article. Support for 4K video recording (30/60 fps) cannot be missed and the front camera has 16 Mpx.
News OnePlus 8T is again a compromise and a kind of combination of OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro equipment. It offers the same main 48 MPx sensor Sony IMX586 like the OnePlus 8, which is complemented by a 16 MPx widescreen sensor, a 5 MPx macro sensor and a 2 Mpx depth sensor. There is also support for 4K (30/60 fps) video and the front camera offers 16 MPx. It is also located in the space in the display.
Looking at the fact that the OnePlus 8T uses the camera as the main sensor 3 years old hardware, which was also used in OnePlus 7, we are slightly disappointed with the camera page.
Battery: Fast charging up to 65W
As for the battery, OnePlus 8 offers a capacity of 4300 mAh, OnePlus 8 Pro due to the finer display offers up to 4510 mAh and the new OnePlus 8T then equals 4500 mAh. Thanks to the new processor and exemplary software optimization, all three smartphones offer very good endurance on a single charge, and even a demanding working day will definitely not be a problem.
There is also a very popular fast charge, an older pair of devices OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro offers 30 W cable charging. The new and improved OnePlus 8T then offers up to 65 W fast cable charging. Two OnePlus 8T a 8 Pro they also include support for fast wireless or even reverse charging, which is suitable, for example, for charging accessories.
But what about the OnePlus 8T as a new flagship there is no wireless charging, as well as the basic OnePlus 8. The OnePlus 8 Pro is the only one in this trio to feature 30 W wireless and 3 W reverse charging. We also evaluate this minus.
Price and availability
All three smartphones, the latest OnePlus 8T, OnePlus 8 Pro me too OnePlus 8 are sold through the official OnePlus website, but you can also find them at offer of international sellers significantly cheaper than anywhere else. New with a label OnePlus 8T is sold on the official website in pre-orders for the amount of 629 €.
OnePlus 8, global ROM
For older equipment that is still on sale, OnePlus 8 Pro is sold on the official website for the amount of 899 €. The cheapest available (without pre-order) of the three devices is then the model OnePlus 8, which is currently sold for the amount of 649 €.

Final evaluation: OnePlus 8T, OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8
OnePlus smartphones are currently full-fledged flagship models, but they are also designed for three different users. OnePlus 8 is a long-term available device with good equipment, it is especially suitable for those who want to save some extra euros. OnePlus 8 Pro is consequently for the completely opposite spectrum of users, it is suitable for those who want the best available.
With its premium parameters at the forefront with 8 W wireless charging, official IP30 certification, a better main Sony IMX68 sensor and a 689 Hz refresh rate, the OnePlus 120 Pro moves away from the more affordable OnePlus 8.
OnePlus 8T in turn, it is a device that has adapted most of the top features from the OnePlus 8 Pro, but with a price compromise. Namiwireless charging is the fastest here 65 W standard from the company, still beautiful and especially flat 120 Hz AMOLED with improved brightness and contrast properties as well as state-of-the-art hardware with optimized performance. However, there is a lack of IP certification and a significant improvement of the camera (only the design of the module on the back has undergone a change).
The strongest point of the new OnePlus 8T is, however its price. It's surprisingly low, but we still probably can't talk about a flagship killer. In Europe, the price tag for the 8 + 128 GB version has been set to 599 € and is currently pre - ordered for 629 €. For comparison, a version of the basic OnePlus 8 was sold for € 699, but with weaker equipment.
However, if you own the eighth generation OnePlus smartphones from the beginning of the year or another smartphone with a similar performance, the transition to OnePlus 8T will probably be unnecessary. However, if you want longer software support, a flat AMOLED display, extremely 65 W charging and a new design, go for it.
I still can't decide Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, OnePlus 8 Pro or OnePlus 7T Pro who I can buy from the SK website for 550 € and I have it at home tomorrow, the two of which will be + - a month before they arrive and if they break down, there will be a mess. Any types? (I care about the display, the cameras and the good experience in general, because I have a Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 and I was dissatisfied with it from the beginning)
Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra is only for China and it lacks the support of our networks, so it does not have a B20 frequency. OnePlus 8 Pro should arrive with delivery as early as 15 working days, and we have experienced that more expensive packages were sometimes delivered even earlier. We have the OnePlus 7T Pro in our own editorial office and it's a great smartphone, we're just bothered by the curved display (problems with the protective glass, sometimes when operating) and quite problematic focusing on videos. But if you want top-notch equipment, we definitely recommend the OnePlus 8 Pro with the biggest advantages such as wireless charging, IP68 certification, 120 Hz AMOLED or a better main sensor even with 48 MPx wide. And he already has the option to update Android 11 and Oxygen OS 11.
Okay, thank you. Maybe I'll wait for the OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk edition, I just find this annual OnePlus smartphone also uninteresting. When we take the OnePlus 7T Pro McLare Edition, what reminds me do you happen to have a discount coupon for the McLaren Edition?
The OnePlus 7T Pro has stopped selling to our partners and the McLaren Edition we think was not available.
