Spoločnosť NothingFounded in October 2020 after OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei left his home company, OnePlus, it unveiled its first-ever product. They are fully wireless headphones Nothing ear (1), which will impress with their original semi-transparent design.
Unusual design
The design of the headphones and the charging case cannot be denied originality. The case has a square shape and is made of transparent plastic, so it is possible to see the placement of the headphones. The main joints and entrails are already covered with white plastic so that it does not spoil the overall impression.
The headphones are very similar in design to the Apple AirPods Pro. They have a construction with replaceable rubber extensions and a relatively short foot on which the name of the headphones is engraved. The foot is also made of transparent plastic and the internal parts can be seen.
According to editors who have already had the honor of watching the headphones live, they look much better than expected. They are minimalist, hold well in the ears and have an unprecedented design that clearly distinguishes them from the environment.
Each earphone weighs only 4,7 grams and is equipped with 11 mm driversnamiconverters from the Teenage Engineering company, which ensure high-quality sound delivery. What the manufacturer did not forget is the function of active noise cancellation (ANC).
Battery life and connectivity
Nothing ear (1) is IPX4 certified, so they can withstand rain and splashing water. The application is used directly from the manufacturer for complete setup. There, the user can set the mode to either ANC or pass mode, where the external microphones are activated.
There is also the Find My Earbuds function, thanks to which the headphones start making loud sounds, thanks to which the user can find them more easily. This application is available for Android and iOS operating systems.
The headphones last for about 4 hours when the ANC is switched on, when switched off, the endurance is extended to almost 6 hours. The charging case then gives them a total of up to 34 hours of listening to music. The case can be charged classically wired via a modern USB-C connector or wirelessly.
Nothing ear (1) will be available from August 17 including the US, Europe, Asia and India. The first sale will take place on July 31, but in limited quantities on the official website of the manufacturer. The price for Europe is set at 99 EUR.
