And here we have another notebook from the Ninkear brand, which entices you with interesting parameters at a very favorable price. We tested it in the spring of this year Ninkear N16 Pro, which we could also put in this category and now we have the newer improved model A16 Pro. Unfortunately, not everything has changed for the better, we also found some deteriorations. The novelty came with higher performance, a very similar construction and some novelties that will surely please you. Objectively, this is a better model, so if you were thinking about the predecessor, this device will be an even better choice.
A first look at the parameters reveals that you get quite a lot for this price. The AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS chipset, 32 GB of RAM or a matte monitor with a high resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate will impress. You won't even pay 700 euros for all this. What is the Ninkear A16 Pro like and is it worth investing in?

packing
The contents of the package are practically identical to the Ninkear N16 Pro. We praised it then and we still praise it now. The laptop arrived in a classic brown box, nothing special. The most interesting accessory you get with it is probably the mouse. It is a classic cheap wired mouse, but its presence in the package pleases. We expected a classic charger with a special end, but the manufacturer understood that this is no longer used in 2024, so here we have a USB-C cable with a USB-C charging adapter. We'll get to charging later.
The package also includes a user manual and keyboard stickers, which can be combined because they are localized into multiple languages. However, Slovak is not here. Unfortunately, the laptop bag has disappeared from the package, the mouse pad is still present.
Design, processing and connectivity
Not much has changed here either, and the materials are what the manufacturer saved the most on. But that does not mean that it is downright bad, rather the opposite. Although the body is plastic, fortunately it is strong enough and gives a very solid impression. Of course, the 16-inch monitor takes its toll in terms of overall size and weight, but the device is also suitable for portability.
Despite the cheaper materials, it doesn't look bad at all, and if you pull it out somewhere in a cafe, you don't have to be ashamed of it. Very comfortable opening with one hand will please, the hinge resistance is perfectly set for this. The monitor also holds very well in its position and you can open it up to an angle of 180 degrees. The keyboard has also improved somewhat from our point of view. Although it is still plastic, it is less noisy (although it is still quite audible). On the other hand, writing on it is very comfortable. We are also writing this review right now on the Ninkear A16 Pro keyboard and we have nothing to complain about.
There is also a numeric part, although its keys are narrower, but it will serve well. The arrows on the keyboard could be arranged a little better, especially the up and down arrows. They are narrow and relatively close to each other and we are still not used to using them, typos are on a daily basis.
As for ports, the equipment here is quite decent. The left side of the notebook contains two USB-C connectors that are also used for charging, so it doesn't matter which one you use. Above them is a full-fledged HDMI connector, which is not quite the standard today. The right side contains a 3,5 mm audio jack and two large USB connectors. The only thing that could still be found here is a memory card reader.
Monitor and speakers
The monitor is one of the most important parts of any laptop. It's an area we look at every time we work with him. The better the panel, the better. Ninkear is fully aware of this and we can call the monitor its big plus with a clear conscience. No, of course its quality will not surpass laptops for 2000 euros, but you will be able to rely on it.
First of all, it's great that the panel is matte. In terms of image quality and saturation, this is not a big plus, because glossy monitors simply look better, but the colors on the Ninkear A16 Pro are still very nice and vivid. In addition, the matte surface has one great advantage - it does not capture fingerprints, dirt or grease. And so the monitor does not need to be constantly polished to keep it clean.
Its other advantage is the 120 Hz refresh rate, which is recognizable from the first switch on. The movement of the mouse is beautifully smooth, opening or moving windows as well. It can also be used for games (even if it is not a game machine) or any other activity with the laptop. The viewing angles are also very good, and the resolution is 2560 x 1440 pixels. So no reservations in this regard.
The relatively small frames around the monitor are also pleasing, while the camera also fit in the top one. Unfortunately, it cannot be used for face unlocking, as it is not compatible with Windows Hello. You can also forget about the fingerprint sensor, which is a big shame.
Ninkear N16 Pro had a fingerprint sensor, it was located in the trackpad. And while we're talking about the trackpad, we appreciate its size, and with a bit of practice, it can be used relatively comfortably. On the other hand, it's no MacBook, you have to take that into account. It is sufficient for normal short work, but we preferred to use the mouse.
There are two speakers and they point directly at the user and are located right on the sides of the keyboard. So it started well, but the continuation not much. The sound is literally awful. It is sufficient for some basic video calls, but if you would like to play music or a movie in at least decent quality, this is not a good solution. The sound absolutely lacks bass, there is not even a hint of it. The quality is bad, the sound is unbalanced and the maximum volume is also not much.
Performance and system
What the Ninkear A16 Pro loses in processing quality or speakers, it makes up for in performance. At this price, you will hardly find a device that would have higher performance in combination with a larger operating memory. Thanks to this, this laptop will serve you for a really long time without feeling a slowdown of the system, because the performance reserve is here even for several years. In this regard, we also praised the Ninkear N16 Pro, which we tested a few months ago, but here the performance is even slightly higher.
Inside is an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS processor with a frequency of 5,10 GHz and eight cores. In this price category, it is literally something unheard of. Thanks to the high performance, your system will not crash or applications will open slowly. 32 GB of DDR5 RAM is also enough for several years ahead. You can have practically any number of windows open in the browser, but you will not feel the lack of RAM.
The Geekbench benchmark showed very good numbers. The notebook received 2382 points for the performance of one core, and up to 12167 points in the multi-core test. These are the numbers it achieved in maximum power mode connected to the power source. However, even after disconnection, when the battery took care of running the system, the performance is practically the same. We measured the score only a few tens of points lower. So you won't lose performance even on the go, when you won't be charging your laptop. Even an ultrabook three times more expensive from a proven manufacturer would definitely not be ashamed of these numbers.
The notebook offers three basic performance modes, which is also reflected in the battery life. Turbo mode uses 55 W power, Balance mode 45 W and Office mode 35 W. Of course, we tested the performance in Turbo mode.
Battery and charging
One major positive thing happened here. A more convenient solution has replaced the proprietary charging connector together with a large charging adapter. The notebook can be charged via the USB-C connector. The package includes a USB-C cable and an adapter that offers a power of 100 W. For charging, you can use any of the two USB-C ports of the notebook, which are located on the left side.
The battery has a capacity of 80,08 Wh, which is significantly more than what Ninkear N16 Pro offers (55,44 Wh). The battery life on a single charge is also better, with a little effort it will last even a normal working day with you. Durability largely depends on what you do with the laptop and is very individual, but overall we could call it decent. In addition, if you are on the go, USB-C charging can also be useful because you can also charge the laptop with a power bank. Of course, one that offers sufficient performance.
Final rating
Ninkear A16 Pro is an interesting laptop whose main assets are performance and a nice monitor. If you are looking for an affordable model and its speed is of primary importance to you because you don't want to wait for anything, it will be a very good choice. If we add a nice picture on the panel that does not get dirty, it can be a good helper on the road, but also in the office.
But it is not a game machine, even if simpler or older games will work without problems. Unfortunately, a dedicated graphics card is missing for this activity. However, the integrated graphics are not bad at all. The plastic construction may discourage you from buying it, even though the laptop still looks nice and doesn't look cheap (but not expensive either). The weaker trackpad is already traditional, but at least it's big and you can get used to it. We also missed better speakers, which are practically unusable.

For 560 euros, the mother-in-law was delighted 😉
