You have certainly heard something about the amendment to the law from the European Union, which concerns the customs procedure for goods with a value of less than € 22. The new law for cheap shipments will come into force on July 1.7.2021, XNUMX, as we have announced in a comprehensive article.
We have now found out information about the packages you order earlier and will not be able to arrive by this date. How will it be with them?
How will it be with packages ordered earlier, but they did not have time to be delivered by 1.7.2021?
Delivery from China, especially through dealers on Aliexpress, can sometimes be quite lengthy. Many readers are therefore asking us what it will be like with packages they order earlier, for example 1.6.2021, but have not yet been delivered by 1.7.2021, for example due to coronavirus restrictions or other factors affecting the delivery time.
We contacted the Financial Administration of the Slovak Republic with this question, for which Maj. Mgr. Ján Mišiak:
It is important when the shipment will be presented for customs and not when it was ordered.
It follows from that statement that also packages ordered in advance, which may be delayed and enter the country of the recipient after the date 1.7.2021, must be presented for customs procedure under the new law.
