Mandatory contractual insurance for scooters is already approved
Electric scooters

We know from which month the PZP for electric scooters will start paying in Slovakia. How will they be on that electric bike?

How do they want to put it into practice? The e-scooter does not have a technical license. So how can someone prove to me that it goes more than 25 km/h and weighs more than 25 kg? It is just another product of the EU to squeeze money from people. Sick and ill-conceived

Ok, I have a 14,5 kg electric skate, it's not a bicycle or a scooter, I have to have insurance or something

I think it is right to have insurance for these machines. I myself have a scooter that weighs almost 30 kg and reaches almost 60 km/h. They are fast machines and the center of gravity is high. I drive carefully and try to anticipate situations and so far nothing has happened to me, but even if... insurance is a benefit.
I assume that the price will not be dizzying, if I pay about 90 for a motorcycle, 200 for a car, then the 30 for a scooter is not so terrible.
As I read the comment above, I also wonder how the members want to verify the weight and Max speed of the machine if I don't have any Tech. document on these parameters.
They will probably google it 😁 Or will they carry a weight in their trunk and go somewhere to check the speed themselves? 😆
The gendarme will still sleep, so great that at least I will have the insurance as if he would still drag me around the courts. 🤣

How will they enforce it? That is, apart from the fact that the police will "chase" scooters without license plates 😀 ? They won't sell you a new car without tags. So now the same thing will happen in SK stores? That the sale will be linked to insurance? (ok) but what happens when I order a scooter from abroad? I personally am strongly against insurance. I understand some of the reasons that lead to this. But I also know as a long-time user of e-mail. scooters, that, who here causes the mentioned damages in 95% representation. I have seen 95% of "offences" and disastrous driving only with "borrowed" BOLT scooters. On which I see hung 15-16 year old stinkers, preferably when 2-3 ride it at a time. Or drunken people Friday-Saturday (Bratislava is full of it). I'm not saying that there won't be a scooter owner who is reckless and a moron, but without exaggeration, I've seen few such people over the years and I firmly believe that 95% of problems are caused by rental scooters, drunk people, or 12-13 year olds children who received a scooter from their parents. According to this logic, we must also make compulsory insurance for pedestrians, cyclists, skaters, etc. Because all of these cause traffic accidents, which are not subsequently covered.

I agree with you on this. There should be an age specified. And to tighten the safety accessories.

I have an e babeta, I don't mind insurance, I would just like to know how to insure it since I don't have a brand (it is not mandatory). How will it be treated…..

It's all imaginary, do Bolt have PZP scooters too? When insuring scooters, also bicycles and everything electrical...

Frederik

Bolts do not have to have PZP because they fall under the 25 km/h category.

daserrt

and why only electrically skilled cyclists know how to go 30+ and be dangerous

Karol

Is it up to date? Where can I insure the scooter, they don't want to insure it or don't know about it anywhere, and I should have it equipped in two weeks

Frederik

There is no information about it, certainly neither our legislation nor insurance companies can keep up with it.

Dušan

I agree with you. I am the owner of the strongest scooter on the market, I am afraid that the license plate will only be a small condition of the state, people threaten us with a license plate plus some possibly ridiculous technical license, they certainly won't let us run around without paying. That shot of mine goes 100 km per hour ,Above all, drive sensibly.

Another way to extort money from people 😀

the law does not apply yet.. or not here yet.. in other EU countries it is possible, nothing has been approved in our country, so it does not apply yet and we can still ride any scooter without insurance as of 10.1.2024. in what month will it actually come into effect in our country..since we only recently had a change of government, our government had completely different problems...with the budget and now other things will be dealt with, among other things, for example, presidential elections, European elections, etc. in any case, if it is already approved and we know the amount of the insurance for the year, I hope you will give it here right away.. if it is up to approx. 10-15 ecz per year or up to 20 max, I am willing to pay, if more, I will think about it and maybe prefer a kolobka I will sell it.. in any case, I hope that the insurance will not have to be paid for e.g. kukirin m4 pro or ienyrid m4 pro with max.

The truth is that the amount will be 72 euros. In the Czech Republic, 1800 kcz. So we have something to look forward to.

Frederik

Where did you get the info from? Even the insurance companies themselves could not comment on the price, so this is shooting prices from the belly.

peterpan88

nonsense! karotka, the biggest scooter tester on YouTube, said in his video that it will be around 10-15 euros max.. 70 would be totally over the line and unrealistic.. when you slowly pay so much for a Fabia.. (around 100 euros)

I pay an annual insurance of €90 for an electric motorcycle with a maximum speed of 28 km/h. 😉

peterpan88

so the scooter will be somewhere around half of this amount... or 15-20e max

Otakar

Yes, the basis is to buy a scooter under 25 kilos, which does not go more than 25 kilometers per hour, the so-called rule of 25 😀

peterpan88

at least maybe electric bicycles won't be charged here like in Germany or France where they can afford it because they earn a lot more there.. a huge difference.. and scooters maybe a maximum of 15-20 euros, that's all I'm willing to pay per year, no more..
