Two different versions will also offer different processors, specifically Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 a HiSilicon Kirin 9000. The new tablets will also have new accessories in the form of a magnetic keyboard and a second-generation M-Pencil stylus.
HarmonyOS as a new universal system
Right at the beginning of the press conference, we were able to see the company's successes in the field of computers and improvements in the interconnection of devices (ecosystems). And the first novelty was the universal HarmonyOS system, which will offer its version for watches, smartphones, tablets and other smart devices, such as smart TVs.
The big topic is the Internet of Things, and it is the portfolio of intelligent products that should unify the new operating system from Huawei. The advantage is also a detailed connection of a smartphone, tablet and laptop at the level of file management or quick change of connected accessories.
The manufacturer will gradually bring the new operating system to older devices as well, owners of Huawei Mate 40 series, P40 series smartphones, but also older ones like Nova 6 and Nova 7 or Huawei P20 and P10 series can look forward to it.
Huawei MatePad Pro 12,6 ″ (HarmonyOS): Flagship tablet with Kirin 9000 processor
New premium tablet from Huawei with label MatePad Pro comes with the new HarmonyOS system. It contains a large 12,6 ″ AMOLED screen (resolution 2560 x 1600 pixels) with TÜV Rheiland certification, is calibrated with every single piece of the device and also offers a DCI-P3 color gamut or contrast of 1: 000. flagship processor HiSilicon Kirin 000.
New in HarmonyOS are also new widgets that will make this tablet even more versatile for use with other applications and devices. There is also voice control that the tablet can turn into text, but also drawing characters with the new second-generation M-Pencil stylus, which also converts the tablet to text (so far for 3 languages, 7 regions).
The connection from a computer is also improved, you can use the MatePad Pro tablet as a graphics tablet for your PC, but also as a second display for your PC. As on the tablet itself, copying text or data transfer works between the pair of devices.
The tablet will offer three powerful linear microphones in the side edge, for 360-degree quality sound from up to five meters. The goal is to use the tablet for conferences and long-distance business calls. The back contains, in addition to the standard 13 MPx primary camera, a 3D depth sensor designed for scanning objects.
The advantage is the Wi-Fi 6+ connection (in the higher equipment also 5G), as well as the 10 mAh battery, which offers a total endurance of up to 050 hours of active use. The novelty will be available in three colors with a matte finish on the back wall. It will be a black, gray and olive color processing. The tablet will support a magnetic keyboard and an updated second-generation M-Pencil stylus.
Huawei MatePad Pro 11 (HarmonyOS)
The Chinese manufacturer also introduced a smaller and more compact version of its MatePad Pro tablet. It offers a 10,8 ″ screen diagonal with space for the front camera and very narrow frames at a level of only 4,9 mm.
The novelty will also support the HarmonyOS operating system and, following the example of its larger sibling, will also receive accessories in the form of a keyboard case and support for the second-generation M-Pencil stylus.
In terms of performance, we have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and artificial intelligence to help you enter characters by voice, just like the 12,6 ″ models.
There is no lack of support for PC functions (screen extension, data sharing, etc.), as well as work with several applications on the screen of the tablet itself. However, we don't know more about this device yet.
