New in the form of a laptop Huawei MateBook is the successor of the original model from 2017. It is characterized by a very similar design, metal workmanship, but also thin frames around the display. It even shares some technical specifications with its predecessor.
On the other hand, the equipment also excels with novelties. It has an updated processor and is also unique in that it is the first Windows laptop to have a pressure-sensitive trackpad.
Technical specifications
The body of this notebook is made of an alloy of magnesium and aluminum, weighing only about 1 kilogram. The dimensions of the device were stopped at 284,4 x 206,7 x 13,6 mm.
Huawei MateBook It also offers a 13 ″ touch LCD display with 3K resolution (3000 x 2000 pixels), 3: 2 aspect ratio and very thin frames. Thanks to them, the screen covers approximately 90% of the front wall. The display offers a 100% sRGB colored gamut, but also a contrast ratio of 1500: 1 or a brightness of up to 400 nits.
The display offers a wide viewing angle of up to 178 degrees, as well as 10-point touch multitouch technology. In terms of performance, it is powered by a 7th generation Intel Core i10510-10U processor, which is supplemented by 16 GB (2133 MBHz) of LPDDR3 RAM and 512 GB of SSD storage.
Unfortunately, none of the current versions on sale have a dedicated graphics card. Because it is thinner than most competing models, the manufacturer has reached for an integrated graphics card. Due to the thin dimensions of the notebook does not include a standard fan, cooling is handled passively.
Pressure sensitive trackpad
When it comes to exceptional features, one of them is definitely the pressure sensitive trackpad. It is also the first Windows laptop to come with this hardware. Huawei calls this technology FreeTouch, and it is obvious that the inspiration was also from the American Apple and its technology on MacBook models.
This trackpad from Huawei is able to detect different pressure levels and even provides vibrating feedback to the user. Other features include up to four speakers, a pop-up camera known from previous models, a backlit high-lift keyboard and a fingerprint sensor.
In terms of connectivity, the Chinese manufacturer has prepared Wi-Fi 6 technology, and Bluetooth 5.0 technology is subsequently available for connecting accessories. It will please the NFC chip, which is also used to connect to a mobile phone. There is 2 x USB type C connector, but also a 3,5 mm audio connector or 42 Wh battery and fast 65W charging.

The notebook will come in four colors - Frost Silver, Interstellar Blue, Greem Mountain Daisy and Cherry Blossom. However, not all versions will be available from the start of the sale.
