Today, Huawei officially introduced another successor to the Mate X series of folding smartphones. In addition to its folding display, the Huawei Mate X2 also impresses with a completely new way of closing. Until now, Huawei models have closed themselves so that the folding display stays outside, exposing it to the environment at all times.
Two 90 Hz OLED displays
Huawei understood that this solution is more practical. This means that the novelty has two displays. It is located in front OLED diagonal panel 6,45" a 90 Hz refresh rate. Its resolution is 2700 x 1160 pixels, which forms a final density of 456 ppi.
You will work with this display in the closed state. There is also a hole in it 16-megapixel selfie camera and delight with minimal frames. Compared to the main folding display, it has one ace up its sleeve - it is protected by tempered glass, so you don't just scratch it so easily.
This cannot be said about the main flexible display. You will have to be more careful with that. Its diagonal is straight 8" and has a very interesting aspect ratio 8:7,1, so it's almost a square. Of course, this is the absolute top in color rendering and other parameters.
Offers resolution 2480 x 2200 pixels and refresh rate 90 Hz. The touch response is a very decent 180 Hz. Thanks to the arcuate shape in the closed state, the pressure is not exerted on the display as it would be with conventional bending. We could already see something similar in Motorola's razr jigsaw puzzles.
Joint made of the highest quality materials
Huawei emphasized the quality of the joint. As a result, it uses carbon fiber composite materials in combination with high-quality steel. As a result, the joint is characterized by extreme strength and reliability.
In terms of hardware, Huawei relies on the best it has available. Specifically, it is a powerful 5 nm processor Kirin 9000which you made yourself. For example, Huawei Mate 40 Pro also uses it. 8 GB RAM does not inspire, but is fully sufficient. Support is a matter of course 5G.
The manufacturer boasts high-quality stereo speakers with clear sound that can play really loud. The battery has received capacity 4500 mAh, the maximum charging power with the cable is very decent 55 W.
Huawei Mate X2 got top cameras
We have no doubt that the new Huawei Mate X2 will be one of the best photo cars today. Judge for yourself. Main 50-megapixel sensor got optical image stabilization, not missing either ultra-wide angle lens with resolution 16MP. The most interesting are the zoom options.
For these purposes, there are exactly two sensors. The first is classic telephoto lens with XNUMXx optical zoom, optical image stabilization and brightness f / 2.4. It is much more interesting periscope lens with 10x optical zoom, optical image stabilization and brightness f / 4.4. The maximum digital zoom is 100x.
This is not the first time that Huawei has used such a combination of telephoto lenses. It is found, for example, in the Mate 40 Pro + and P40 Pro + models. These are not sold on the Slovak market.
Huawei Mate X2: Price and availability
News is one of the most expensive smartphones today. Of course, this applies to all folding models. The version with 256 GB of storage costs 17999 yuan, which is approximately 2298 EUR. For the 512 GB model, Huawei asks for 18999 yuan (2425 €). It will go on sale in its home China on February 25, and availability on the Slovak market has not yet been announced.
