Snapdragon or Kirin?
The Huawei P50 Pro will be produced in two versions. The first gets the processor Kirin 9000 and there will be a version with Snapdragon 888. The basic Huawei P50 model will only be available in a version with Snapdragon 888. Interestingly, both Kirin and Snapdragon will only support 4G connection, while both chipsets also handle 5G.
The Huawei P50 gets basically 8 GB RAM and 128 or 256 gigabyte storage. The Pro version will have 8 or 12 GB of RAM and the storage will have 128, 256 and 512 GB capacities. Both models also have a memory slot micro SD card.
Huawei has officially got rid of the Android operating system in these models and deployed its own system there HarmonyOS 2.0. These are the manufacturer's first smartphones to come to market with this new operating system, which it wants to compete with Android and iOS.
Improved cameras
The design of the back has already been revealed a few weeks ago. Huawei has decided to experiment and bring an unprecedented design. There are two circular modules that contain the lenses themselves. The manufacturer also elegantly incorporated an LED flash there.
Cameras have always been developed with Leica. The main camera is the same for both models and forms it 50 megapixel lens with f / 1,8 aperture. It does not lack optical image stabilization. The Huawei P50 Pro also has a 40-megapixel black and white camera 13-megapixel ultra wide angle lens. Laser autofocus also helps the camera.
A new periscope lens with a resolution is used for zooming 64 MPxwhich also lacks optical stabilization. The basic Huawei P50 also has a periscope lens, but with a lower 12-megapixel resolution. The trio is complemented by a 13-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, which is, however, slightly narrower than in the case of the Pro variant.
Huawei has given up the 3D scanning sensor for safer face unlocking. We will find here a selfie camera with a resolution hidden in a small space 13 MPx.
The Pro version is equipped with the system XD Fusion Pro, which doubles the amount of accumulated light and increases the dynamicky range of photos by up to 28%. Both smartphones can record 4K videos, 8K video recording is missing.
Battery connectivity and capacity
Both models will receive stereo speakers and are waterproof according to certification IP68. The basic Huawei P50 has a battery with capacity 4 100 mAh and the Pro model got bigger 4 360 mAh battery. Both support fast wired charging at maximum speed 66 W and I can do it wirelessly at speeds up to 50 W. Reverse wireless charging will also be available.
Price and availability
All models will also be available on the global market, but no availability dates have been announced. In China, the first pieces will reach customers on August 12. Huawei P50 Pro with Snapdragon 888 in 8 + 128 configuration will stand 6 yuanwhich is in conversion 780 EUR.
The most expensive model with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage will be available only in septembryos in two color versions. The price goes up to 8 yuan (1 094 eur). The Huawei P50 will also come in septembryos at a base price of 4 yuan (590 EUR).
The Huawei P50 Pro will be available in a total of five colors and the basic Huawei P50 in three. The accessories that make up the protective packaging have not been forgotten either. Huawei has used a circular design of cameras and one case will have a removable stand at the back and the other will use a folding LED light.
