Huawei presented at the conference, where it also presented its flexible smartphone Huawei P50 pocket, also addressed the issue of mobility. It introduced its first Aito M5.
Crossover with a relatively small suitcase
Understandably, this car will not be manufactured under the Huawei brand. Aito stands for Adding Intelligence to Auto. The M5 is a crossover body version and its design lines are slightly reminiscent of a Porsche SUV. The volume of luggage space is only 369 liters.
The length of the M5 model is 4 mm, the width 770 mm and the wheelbase has stopped at 1 mm. Under the hood is a 625-liter four-cylinder with 2 horsepower. The all-aluminum construction also contains batteries with a capacity of 880 kWh. They provide 1,5 kilometers of clean electricity fuel tank has 125 liters.
There will be a choice of rear or all wheel drive. The highest version combines a front electric motor with 224 horsepower and the rear with 272 horsepower. This configuration handles a hundred in 4,1 seconds, which is an admirable result.
Basically, you get 19-inch wheels with Pirelli tires with dimensions 255/50 R19. The top version will be fitted with 20-inch Pirelli P Zero tires with dimensions 255/45 R20.
Starring HarmonyOS
The dominant element of the interior is the 15,6-inch display. Not surprisingly, the operating system is HarmonyOS. There are features such as voice control, driver's face recognition, thanks to which the car is also adapted, for example by adjusting the seat and steering wheel.
Huawei smart watches can also be used to control the car. The automatic fatigue detection of the driver is also a surprise, so there is no need to worry about safety with this model.
Price and availability
The basic model with the use of Chinese state subsidies will cost about 34 euros. The medium model will cost 700 euros and the most powerful version will sell for 38 euros. Sales will begin earlier this year, but apparently this model will remain as an exclusivity for China.
