The first fitness bracelet with a full display
Its predecessor, Honor Band 5, had a 0.95 ″ OLED display with a resolution of 240 x 120 px. It had an optical heart rate sensor, monitoring activity in 10 sports, water resistance up to 5 ATM. The display on the front was complemented by a circular button to wake it up. With what improvements does the novelty come?
Honor Band 6 is the first fitness bracelet with a display that covers the entire top. Compared to the older version, it has grown and its design is closer to a smart watch, such as the Honor Watch ES.
The news got AMOLED diagonal display 1.47" with resolution 194 x 368 px. The display is covered with temperate 2.5D glass that is slightly rounded at the edges. You will no longer find a touch button on the top of the display, because you control the smart bracelet with gestures, just like a mobile phone or smart watch.
However, the physical button was not completely removed. It is located on the side and you use it to wake up the display. On the other side you will find the Honor logo.
Color designs and various functions
The Honor Band 6 fitness bracelet will be sold in three colors - black, gray and soft pink for ladies. In these colors, however, you only get a bracelet, because the body remains the same in all three colors, black.
The bracelet supports as well as its predecessor, the activity tracking at 10 sports. But the novelty has already received support for a popular feature measuring the amount of oxygen in the blood. There is a newer version of Huawei's 24-hour heart rate monitor TruSeen 4.0 and sleep monitoring technology, TruSleep. For ladies, there is also an interesting function of monitoring menstrual cycles.
The fitness bracelet will be sold in two versions - with support NFC and without NFC. The manufacturer states the endurance per charge 14 days. You will also find voice assistant support in the NFC version.
There is no lack of Bluetooth, this time in version 5.0, accelerometer, gyroscope, water resistance to 5 ATM and magnetic battery charging with capacity 180 mAh.
Price and availability
Honor Band 6 without NFC received the award 249 yuan ($ 37 or € 32). The NFC version will be sold for 289 yuan ($ 43 or € 37).
Both variants will be available in pre-order for China from November 4 and will officially go on sale on November 11, during the biggest discounts.
