To achieve this goal, it used new chip technology, color synchronization capability, higher quality LED strip and minimalist design. What's more, Govee TV Backlight 3 Lite will become compatible with the standard Matter via firmware update (OTA) in the first quarter of 2024.

Govee TV Backlight 3 Lite uses a new chip that gives you o 20% higher performance compared to the previous generation. Improvements help to more accurately and quickly adapt the lighting effects of your TV image.
In addition, thanks to a better chip and an updated algorithm, Govee TV Backlight 3 Lite now supports new functions. This includes, for example, fisheye correction for the image and increased accuracy of color tuning. It is being achieved by correcting screen edge distortion, which expands the capture area and captures colors with more accuracy. Also, the camera can now identify and ignore the black frame at the top and bottom of the display.
Design and compatibility of TV Backlight 3 Lite
The improved single camera with gravity suspension is easy to use and compatible with ultra-thin TVs. Govee also improved the design of the LED strip it now uses RGBICW 4-in-1 LED.
Compared to its predecessor, the new LED generation includes white LEDs for more accurate color reproduction and finer color development. This improvement will allow you to better adapt the lighting to the screen and thus get more beautiful visual effects.
Installation and synchronization
No others are required to operate the system HDMI devices. The image of your TV is captured exclusively through the camera on top of it. This makes it possible to synchronize the image with the light even with copyrighted content such as Disney+ and Netflix.
Mounting the control box and camera on the TV, as well as the LED strip around the TV, is as fast as the initial setup via the Govee Home app. With the calibration points placed in the app only once at the beginning, the initial setup should take no more than five minutes.
DreamView mode and integration with Matter
Govee DreamView allows you to synchronize the light effects of the new TV backlight with by other Govee smart lights in the ecosystem. This feature supports synchronization with up to 7 Govee devices and can further enhance your TV or movie viewing experience.
As for Matter integration via a firmware update this year, we're mainly expecting the v light on/off function HomeKit. However, for the need to integrate into scenes and automations or integrate with Siri voice commands, this is of course a very welcome extension.
