Content and quality of packaging
Eleglide electric scooter Coozy delivered to us by DPD courier in a box with dimensions of 1170 x 230 x 610 mm and weight of 22.7 kg. The package came to us from a Polish warehouse and several minor damages were visible on the box.
Fortunately, the manufacturer used the so-called double packing, so the second box sufficiently protected the scooter from damage. The cracks remained on the box and we received the scooter completely undamaged.
It is stored in the box in a folded state with the handlebars removed. It is protected by several foam reinforcements, and in addition to the scooter itself, you will also find screws, an Allen key, a charger and a manual in the package.
Assembly of the scooter
As we mentioned in the previous chapter, the scooter comes in the box in a folded state without handlebars, which need to be mounted on the main steering bar. For this purpose, there are screws and an Allen key in the box.
We need four screws to attach the handlebars to the main pole of the scooter. The manufacturer adds four more replacement acts to the package, in case we lose some.
Assembly is thus very simple and fast. It doesn't take more than a few minutes and apart from the handlebars, we didn't have to do anything extra. The scooter also has a Bluetooth connection, but does not require any activation before first use.
Quality of workmanship and design
The Eleglide electric scooter is made of aluminum alloy. The quality of the processing is good, the individual components fit together perfectly, nothing creaks or you feel any slack in the steering. Our only complaint is the charging port cover, which does not hold the best.
As for the design, it is more or less standard and similar to most electric city scooters. Perhaps the only peculiar element is the platform for the feet, which flows smoothly upwards to the joint of the folding mechanism. This space is rubberized just like the platform for the feet.
Handlebars with display
Eleglide scooter handlebars Coozy they are 536 mm wide and approximately 88 cm high from the ground. The height of the scooter user recommended by the manufacturer should be between 120 and 200 cm. We are approximately 185 cm tall and the handlebar height is ideal for us.
The rubberized grips are comfortable to hold and the easy-to-read and slightly tilted display, which is located in the triangular element in the middle of the handlebars, will please you. Its tilt ensures good readability while driving. It shows the current speed, driving mode and several symbols such as Bluetooth or lights on. The battery status indicator is only graphical and consists of four parts.
On the right side we find the standard throttle lever, while on the left side there is a brake lever and bell. It is relatively weak and the pedestrians who obstructed us on the cycle paths often did not hear us.
Interesting direction lights
Since there are many models on the market of electric scooters for the city, some manufacturers try to attract something non-standard compared to the competition. In the model Coozy we find interesting indicators that are integrated into both ends of the handlebars. They are controlled by a switch on the left side of the handlebars.
The turn signals flash orange, as they should in all cases, but on a sunny day they are easily overlooked due to their location. We certainly wouldn't count on car drivers to notice these turn signals. However, their visibility is clearly better in the evening, during darkness.
The rear red light is excellent. It is large enough and will increase in intensity and flash when braking, so it is perfectly visible. A little worse is the front white light, which does not have the best dispersion or the distance of the afterglow. In addition, its slope is not adjustable.
Front suspension and wheels
A positive aspect of the new scooter is the presence of a front suspension fork. It's just an ordinary spring fork that doesn't have a high lift, so don't expect any miracles.
The fork is rather stiffer and it should not be forgotten that it is a scooter intended for the city. It absorbs small bumps well, but it is weak for larger bumps. However, it definitely has a positive effect on comfort while driving and the difference between a scooter without suspension and an Eleglide Coozy is noticeable.
Pneumatic wheels with dimensions of 10 x 2,5" also help comfort during driving. Overall, riding the scooter in the city is comfortable and pleasant without unnecessary vibrations and knocking.
Adjustable maximum speed
Choose Coozy it has a motor in the rear wheel. Its nominal power is 350 W, maximum 540 W. The manufacturer indicates a maximum speed of 25 km/h, which is a common standard for urban scooters.
In the Green Drive application, however, we find the possibility of adjusting the speed limit from the preset 25 km/h to a higher value, up to a maximum of 50 km/h. Although the scooter cannot reach up to 50 km/h, with our weight of 79 kg we reached approximately 32 km/h on the straights, which is also quite a decent speed.
There are also two weaker modes, the maximum speed of which is 15 and 20 km/h. The button below the display is used to switch between modes.
Battery and range
The battery with a voltage of 36 V and a capacity of 12.5 Ah is located in the lower part of the scooter. The manufacturer declares a maximum range of 55 km per charge.
Of course, we tested the range in real conditions. We rode the scooter on the streets of Košice with a 79 kg rider. Since Košice is not a very flat city, we did not miss the hills either. We rode mostly on cycle paths and classic paths or roads.
We used the mode with the maximum speed, which we increased as we mentioned in the previous chapters. With a maximum speed of around 32 km/h, we only covered almost 17 km, which is not much. The Green Drive application measured a little more, 21.6 km. At a preset speed of 25 km/h, count on a range of around 22-25 km. Do not forget that the range depends on the rider's weight, driving style and terrain.
We are missing a kind of low battery capacity indicator in the form of a warning to notice that the battery capacity is already below 20%. The last part of the battery on the display could, for example, turn red when it drops below 20%.
Folding mechanism and brakes
The folding mechanism is very simple and easy to operate. The scooter is unlocked in the folding joint using the locking lever, and then the main bar together with the handlebars are folded towards the rear fender. Here the handlebars are secured to a hook on the fender.
The joint of the folding mechanism holds well while driving, but we recommend being careful when folding. As soon as we released the locking lever, the main steering rod always started to move. For the first time, it fell like this in a folded state towards the rear wheel, when we managed to gently scratch the shiny black element around the display.
As for the braking system, we have an E-ABS electric brake, as well as a rear disc brake with a 140 mm diameter disc.
Green Drive application
Since the scooter also has a Bluetooth connection, you can easily connect it to your smartphone using the Green Drive application, which does not require any registration or login.
Everything important can be found on the main screen, which appears after connecting the scooter. The main circular element shows the current speed, the total distance traveled and also the distance of the current ride.
Below we find the battery capacity in percentage, the engine temperature and several controls. This includes, for example, turning on the lights, changing the driving mode, locking the scooter or setting the cruise control.
An item called Settings is interesting, where we can change the speed limit, as we mentioned in our review above. The default value is 25 km/h.
Eleglide Coozy: Final Evaluation
Choose Coozy is a standard urban electric scooter that offers a power of 350 W in the form of an electric motor located in the rear wheel. Although the manufacturer indicates a maximum speed of only the classic 25 km/h, you can increase the speed with the help of the application. In reality, after unlocking, we drove at a maximum speed of 32 km/h.
Front suspension and pneumatic 10″ wheels ensure a comfortable ride. Sufficient legroom and turn signals integrated in the handlebars will also please you.
The negative is the weaker battery, with which, after unlocking the speed, we went only almost 17 km on one charge.
